Bart;
Just looked at the sticker on the Dickinson "9000/1200". kinda confusing huh. I'm sure I got the larger one as the Excella is a 32 footer. Also I got mine from Redden Marine Supply in Bellingham , Washington. You've seen mine working haven't you? It'll be at Casini in a few months. Only complaint about the heater is the 12v fan is noisy so I don't use it.IIRC it's 9000 btu without the fan, 12000 btu fan on.So I'm looking for a brushless fan to slam in there.
Brad: yup the ocean was struttin her stuff , sunday was a little tamer than saturday. Only the strong survive inn those conditions. and having some brains does not hurt. One needs to know their capabilities. We were wearing dry suits, pfd,s ,whistles,knifes,gps, crab traps. etc, safety first, Donnie and I are very strong paddlers.
Spud point has the best chowda around for sure! We stay out on the peninsula by the Coastie station,at Doran. Sonoma county Parks are great places. We will be staying at the State park a few days prior to the Casini Forum Rally.just for something different
Zep, I'm too broke to post pics on the forum, All the good intel I provide here, heck , they should pay me to post. lol
Sky; man , you're kickin it!! getting ready for that big kayak race down there or what?

Bart;
got the dimensions and did some research.
I have the small Dickinson Heater. Works just fine , sometimes in the mornings when it gets really cold outside I fire up the cat heater on the wall, another 8000 btu's. That thing singes your hair off when you stand close to it!. then again if it's that cold I need to roll somewhere warm.
See you @ Casini !
I'll be burning real wood this time!

DG,

Great reading about your crabbing and kayak adventure. Looking forward to seeing you both at Casini.

You fire up the cat instead of turning on the fan in the Dickinson? Z

Scott,
The place we crab at is only 14 miles from Casini. We are staying there a few days prior to Casini. If you are up early you could swing by and hopefully I'll have a few fresh dungies for consumption!
Zep.
The cat I have is a Olympian 8100. The "burner" measures 12" X 15". I call it my wall torch. Yes it really puts it out. You've met Linda Lu, when she wants it hot,she means right now!! The cat is a scorcher. I think you have a smaller sissy one in your rig.
I'm off to paddle the PAX for day 11 on the water this year, lol

Yes, I have and my impression is that she can make it hot all by her little self, when she wants to. Sissy one? I always say, the right tool for the right job. No big watches for me.

Ted;
Here's some canoe film for you!
Nice looking craft you've got there!
Tell us a bit about it!

I used to own a 544 Volvo back in the 70's. just loved syncing the dual side draft carbs, seemed like weekly. funny memories.

Thanks. The cedar strip canoe was made from plans by a guy in Eugene Oregon. I just got lucky finding it on Craigslist a year ago. It's quiet on the water and tracks great. I've had it at clear lake oregon with my boys and it was a blast trout fishing with it. At that lake you can see 70 feet beneath you it's so clear. Kind of like scuba diving on top of the water. I bought the bubble as a project and completed it a year ago. And my 544 engine is now hanging from a hoist. That's my new project which will hopefully ready it for the next 50 years. Thanks for following up. I'll check out that canoe video. Cheers. Ted (Dallas Oregon ).

Oru Kayak

I keep forgetting to paste the above. This is a California company. looks like they may have another option for Airstreamers.
I'ld really like to paddle one of these, could be fun in the small surf and class 2 stuff.
Their Facebook page has some good video on their craft.

DG.... How did I forget you were in Bodega again. Are you guys headed out there before Casini?

@ 544man.. Is that a B18 hanging from the rafters? Or is a B16 cant remember. I was a Volvo technician from 82' -2002' and the 544 is still one of my favorites..

Vinnie

I have a 1964 544 sport. So it's the b18. It's a fun car to drive and is a nice change from all the muscle cars out there.
