We just got a Klepper folding tandem a month ago, and took it out for the first time last week in Astoria. Its our first kayak and we had a blast!!

Of course, the first time I tried to assemble it, I tried to do it without reading the instructions (a pdf on my laptop).

It packs nicely in the back of the Tundra along side our folding Bike Friday tandem.

Here is the DW fishing in the deep blue Pacific, offshore of Cambria, CA last weekend. Although foggy, what a perfectly calm, flat ocean with a 3' swell. Beautiful!

Great day at Eppies !!!

You all thought I was kidding about "The World's Oldest Triathlon" didn't ya !!

Well I was on a Great team. Eppies is a run/bike/kayak tri. (waddle/straddle/paddle) for those from Rio Linda.

My sole man was pickin um up and puttin um down, then our wheel man spun um up big time, I finished up on the water with a all out gut wrenching paddle.Good enough to win our division and 45th overall of 1043 bibs.

Hey, anyone else attending this year's "Kelly's Island Poker Paddle" in Ohio?
Should be a lot of fun. No AS ($90 ferry charge), just my tent.

Klepper tandem ready to paddle

Well, I finally figured out how to assemble the Klepper without the manual. Sandy's help makes the assembly go faster than I thought - we're down to about 20 minutes for a set-up/take down (includes towel drying the frame and inside the hull before packing up at the end of the day).

We did 2 nice paddles south of Florence, OR the last couple of days, though yesterday was fairly breezy. We didn't use the spray skirt, so Sandy gave me a nice cool shower.

We are looking forward to using it more as we get more comfortable with it.

Congrats, Tim!!!!!!! One of my former work friends was probably racing in your division, as well.... He recently purchased an older Airstream (a Globetrotter, I think)....

Cheers

Holy smokes! That's quite a win! But not surprising after seeing you glide down the Russian River in your handmade beauty. Congrats!

Moose is an excellent kayak companion. He can't wait to climb aboard and go! We took him out on Morro Bay for a 3 hour paddle this weekend and he was one happy pup. It took a little extra restraining when a sea lion would surface nearby or a pelican would dive after a fish!

Hobies and Airstreams Rock!

Pictures of our Memorial weekend camping trip to Port Aransas, Tx. Fishing pics are casting top waters to tailing reds on the grass flats, and the touring pictures are at Light House Lakes Paddling trails which are a part of the Texas Parks and wildlife marked paddling trail system. The light house is the Lydia Ann Lighthouse and is now privately owned so we could not dock and tour it .We had a great week camping in the AS and playing in the Hobies. Mine is the 16' Adventure model set up for fishing with the Mirage foot drive and built in live well. Her's is the 14' Revolution also with the mirage drive. The foot drive is like having a trolling motor to allow you hands free for casting. If you've never Kayaked, I highly recommend it for the pure fun ,fishing, and the good exercise!
