well shari...

you've taken this thread to a higher level...
if your intent was pure...
then happiness will follow...
if your intent was with motive...
perhaps no good will come...

i choose to believe your actions were pure... or here.....

regarding the a/s forums...
i've never liked the the misuse of this 'k' term here...
just like using the sacred term 'avatar' leaves me uneasy...
sure the online world if full of these contradictions...
but must we follow?
imagine how uneasy we'd all feel
if 'jew dollars' or 'jesus face' were 2 labels...respectively.

we have further confused the issue by suggesting points CAN be redeemed...

when someone leaves 'red soup or green soup' for another here...
it is really their own karma the future holds...
was the green/red sincere?
was it meant to hurt?
was it pandering?
was it from the or red.

the member leaving the comment is affecting their own future...
happy, sad...and so on.

so in that is karmatic...but only for the sender...

now as a sign of approval or disagreement....
left in the receipients box...
'applause or groan' would be a better name...

or 'kudos'...
this greek term is pretty spot least for the applause side.

now i absolutely enjoy it
when someone leaves 'green'...
(thanks azfly')
with a funny comment.
i'm sure most of us feel the warm glow or the cutting knife...

perhaps we should have a...

"rename the reputation points" and 'screen heads' contest...
imagine what funny and great ideas THIS talented group might have
for these 2 issues...
for example...
the red/green rep points... could be polish/corrosion...
members may not understand true 'karma' but they sure get polish&corrosion!

now back to your regular programing

all of the true things that i am about to tell you are shameless lies. l.b.j.

we are here on earth to fart around. don't let anybody tell you any different. k.v.

Why is it that it won't let me see page two? weird.

Thank you Shari for your lovely definition of karma! Its not about the recieving, it about the passion of giving freely expecting nothing in return.

How about we'll skip the Ikea parking lot, and make a fresh pot of coffee instead? Anyone is always welcome to visit with me, Karma or not.

Interesting thread

Wow, don't mean to hijack the catalogue thing. I like the discussion. Karma its meaning and uses.

Personally, I think of the karma in the context of this forum as a way to say hi thanks for the cool post, or I agree, etc. without hijacking a thread, or adding a post that doesn't mean much to others. I spend it gratuitously on lovely efforts in photos, great informative posts, very silly posts, and touching posts. To me, its sort of like a friendly nod or a laugh at a joke. I surely don't expect anything in return, and honest to goodness I can't imagine having it as a goal to accumulate the points. I never did the green stamp/betty crocker points thing.

It is nice to get the karma because a kind word is always welcome and it makes a person feel good to know that a post had some use or meaning to someone.

The negative stuff, in my opinion is a bummer. I don't give it, and when I get it I feel bad that I offended someone. I'd rather get a pm explaining why the post offended and have it removed, just because I think you can't make amends or settle things between people the other way.

Thanks, thanks, thanks!

Who knew????

I have given a little Karma before, but never could figure out where it went... I figured it just went off into cyberspace somewhere....

Way cool. I even have some karma. Love it! Thanks for letting us know! Made my morning!
