Jumping Jack Trailers

I've been slowly corrupting my kid sister in the hopes that she too will become an Airstreamer - but it's probably not in the cards.
  • she doesn't have a suitable tow vehicle
  • she belongs to the "society for creative anachronism" and does medieval fairs, etc. Gotta have a big tent for that.
  • she and her hubby are rock hounds - they hunt for gold, turquoise, etc. and make jewelry... this takes some back country camping
  • money IS an object
So she found something that is really interesting - and I pass it along to all you all. It makes more sense to me than the BaseCamp ever did. It's called the Jumping Jack trailer www.jumpingjacktrailers.com. Play the long video.

What's really neat is that it is a fully functional utility trailer too. D'oh!

Interesting isn't it? Paula

A little to rustic for my liking, but way cool, nonetheless.

We call that a "tent". It may be attached to a trailer of some sort, but it's a tent. No facilities.. been there done that. I could almost see a pop-up, if it was one of the ones with a bathroom and AC, but.. if I am going to tent camp, I would save the money for the trailer under my tent and spend it on gas to get to a great, primitive, boondocking experience with my tent.

edit to add.. "society for creative anachronism" probably would frown upon this tent for their use, as would the rendezvous types who think you need proper period correct gear.. such as a teepee

Maybe you should mention that, compared to most currently available RVs, many would consider an Airstream to be an anachronism, especially a vintage one. And it does resemble a large suit of armor.

Ken

Paula, that looks positively commodious (un-commodious as the case may be... ) compared to the little unit we saw being pulled by a Miata in Glacier last month -- a Lees-ure Lite. We didn't know how 2 people actually slept in it without [edited by overbearing mod personality] all night.

HJw about a Kit trailer. That's a anachronism. The creativity is being able to slither into one. Not a trailer made from a kit, but a trailer made by Kit in the 40s about 4'high and 6feet long. Anybody got a pic?
