Jazz Fest campground

I am hope full that some one will be able to guide us to a camping area for New Orleans Jazz Fest in April. Or maybe some other AS want to get together for the Jazz Fest. We skipped it last year after the hurricane but want to get back this year. It would be great if there was somewhere close to the Fairgrounds or the French Quarter? Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Phil

Hey Phil,

We're close and I will check around on the status of campgrounds for Jazz Fest. I would bet that the best place to stay will ne the Northshore area - it has recovered fairly rapidly - Covington and Mandeville, maybe Slidell. Then you coulld cross the causeway bridge each day and there may be shuttles. There may be places to stay at City Park - last I heard they were still allowing camping - no facilities and there were relief workers camped out there but hey, it's cheep.

It's a shame - I drove by Buccaneer State Park in Waveland MS Sunday and the elec boxes are there and the grounds are clear but they are still closed, went under 25' of water.

If you find a place on your own let me know - I can check on the current status of the place and what the real conditions are.

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
The first one is on the Westbank and very easy to get to Jazzfest. Seafood market right by the entrance. The other 2 are on the North Shore. I think all are open. If you use Bayou Segnette let me know and I will stop by as I live on the Westbank.

If you do get close to the French Quarter you will have free WIFI, much of the city has it now.

Signette appears to have open spaces, better jump on it.

Phil there was something about this last year, seems as though they were talking about rv parking at the race track? We decided not to go last year kinda worried about safety issues.
