TB, over 100 for days on end sounds brutal no matter the humidity. I imagine constant wind also, is that true?

Dianne...
Brutal it is...even those of us who like the desert heat found this a bit much!
The wind isn't too bad for most of the summer...it's when it gets to be monsoon time and we have sudden violent, very localized thunder storms with heavy rain and wind gusts, complete with microbursts and flooding (yes, flooding in the desret)...there have been trees uprooted and power poles down all over town, and structural damage to homes and businesses...fortunately not in our neighborhood (so far). Two people have been killed so far this season when their cars were swept into washes during microbursts, and 2 hikers were drowned in Sabino Canyon on the northeast side of Tucson at the base of the Catalina Mts...a flash flood wall of water came down the Canyon...56 other people were airlifted to safety...but those 2 didn't make it.
Vaughan...I got kick out of the pic of the misters on top of your AS..now that's thinkin'!
I once heard a rotund comedian talk about his gig in Phoenix and the dry heat there. He said, "Dry heat, dry heat, well you can kiss may sweaty..." You know the rest!
One of my employees went to a conference in Phoenix in the summer one year. He said it was a dry heat, but it was like stepping into an oven every time you went outside.
Now, don't get me wrong. I hate cold weather and anything close to it. I'm not complaining about the 100 degree weather we've been having here in Atlanta 'cause I work in an air conditioned office and I put on shorts as soon as I get home and when I'm outside I don't mind it too much. I do draw the line with ties at 100 degrees and have been wearing Dockers and pull-over short sleeve shirts. But I do pray for the folks that work outside in the heat and pray that their managers have the good sense to have them report to work at 5:00 AM and let them go at 1:00-1:30 PM like our company does.
Other than that, anybody up for a bar-b-que? And pass the margaritas!
