Cool it's friday the 13th!

happy friday the 13th. just wondered if anybody was superstitious or had some other phobias or fears. i'm not at all superstitious, even though a couple of days before he was killed in a car accident, my grandfather drove miles out of his way to avoid a black cat! personally, i hate heights, deep water and being closed in. what about y'all?

Every red vehicle I have ever owned have met disastrous ends of some kind, usually while I am occupying them. The latest was my red scooter. I will never own another red vehicle.

No superstitions here, although I will not walk under a ladder. I love Friday the 13th. No telling what will happen!

Friday the 13th and Tornados

Here it comes. Weather guys say it will be nasty with super cell, tornados and hail. Looks like Juel is already getting it in Oklahoma. Our NOAA radar has been off the air for maintenance. Great timing there. It won't be pretty this evening in the ARK-LA-TEX. Hope your all put away.

I thought that red vehicles are the safest?

This thread reminded me of yesterday when I was gutting a bathroom. I smashed 3 mirrors without a second thought...until now

By numbers of vehicles involved in accidents, I remember that red vehicles are #3 in terms of accidents, behind white and black.
Proportionally red is near #1 per vehicle. White and black have more accidents merely by virtue of there being many more of them on the road.

No worries in my book on the 13th. Just got some $$ from my insurance company today, so today can't be bad!

** Bad Battery **

I had to replace a bad battery today in our SOB! I purchased it in April of 05 so it was covered under a full warrantee replacement. I wouldn't think that Friday the 13th had any influence on that! I actually new something was wrong for about a week or two.

I believe that most of our problems are brought about on our own.

Gene, I was run over by a foreign national driving a Tahoe at highway speed. I'm currently in a wheelchair from this.
If you have some time, there is a thread about it here:

Just for fun

Color and Personality
In Great Britain there was actually some research done that suggested the color of your car says something about your personality type. And accordingly, based on your personality type, your likeliness to be involved in an accident (in the U.K. at least). The research shows that black cars are twice as likely to be involved in crashes as cream-colored cars. Whether this is true in the United States is unclear.

Just for fun, here is what the research implied about certain car colors (listed in order of most dangerous to least)1
Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel.
Silver cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof.
Green cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies.
Yellow cars signify someone who is idealistic and novelty loving.
Blue cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver.
Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.
Red cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive, who think, move and talk quickly.
Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.
White cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers.
Cream cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and controlled owners.
