That boggles the mind, in and of itself.

On edit: almost makes one want to start a new thread called "Moron Alert!". You know, kinda like when CAPT Kirk would holler "Red Alert" from the bridge. But that would definitely become political after about the third post and then we'd all be in trouble.

I've seen the Paris Hilton ad several times today and she doesn't at all seem like a moron. Her energy plan makes more sense than most such plans and it's her best acting yet. It's very well done and it only took a couple of hours to make; most commercials take days. She makes McCain look pretty bad which is payback for him using her insultingly in one of his ads. The whole thing surprised me. Maybe it proves a dissolute youth doesn't mean one can't grow up (worked for me).

Now we've gone from biker chic to Paris Hilton. What does all this mean?

The Match.com girl is back. She looks like she's dumbstruck. Some guys like that sort I guess.

Now Gene, I've come to respect you greatly. And now you're telling me that Paris Hilton has something of substance to contribute to society? THAT is a non-sequiter if ever there was one. I guess I'd better go view the video. Wish me luck, boys, I'm goin' in (he said in his best John Wayne voice).

Well actually, it was Adam McKay who wrote the script so I guess it's "his" energy plan... but Paris did the whole thing PDQ.. she does have a sense of humor and pulled it off quite well.

OK, now THAT was FUNNY. BUT, there were way too many multi-syllabic words and phrases for her to actually understand what the heck she was saying. She must be taking lessons in teleprompter regurgitation. Somehow, I wonder if she could actually pick an oil rig out of a lineup of other pictures of tall objects. "Oh look, that one's big", etc.

i guess her old trailer might have gone up a bit in possible historical value.

"here folks, is the paris hilton trailer, before she was president"

Jim, not the best choice of words given her first movie.

Of course, politics makes strange bedfellows.

I just noticed the Match.com girl seems to have a slight overbite.

Honest to (well, you know), I have no idea what that means. I try and make a point of not being up on popular culture.

Seriously. As much as I would like to, I'm not gonna ask.

I looks like we finally have a travel related ad.

"Death Race" is what I feel like I'm in when I hit the road. I'd like to get a pair of those 30mm(???) chain guns mounted on top of my Tradewind.

clothed or closed?

well, we finally got a ad with FULLY clothed people...

and i just discovered that there are only 3 threads here,

with the word 'political' in the title...

and the other 2 are closed with less than 20 posts

so THIS thread is clearly a testament to proper discourse on timely topics...

or not.

cheers

Ya know, there are too many politically incorrect (and politically correct) one liners that can be made about THAT advert. Me thinks 2air is pullin' our collective leg.

Jim (& not Susan)

Hi, I'm Larry. And this is my brother Daryl, an' my other brother Darell

I guess there is suptin' to those googol ads. Just as I posted that last post as a poser, a John McCain advert popped up along the left side of the screen. Weird. Know yer audience, eh?

Solution?

Can't we fix the problem this way ?

If you are a supporting member of the forum, you get the option of turning off all pop-ups, ads, etc.

If you don't support the economic needs of the forum, then you get the ads.

Now that would be a great member benefit.
