is this an absurd idea?

Just wondering, if we have all the comforts of home in our '64 Safari, how 'bout putting in some sort of mini-fireplace unit?..or is that a no-no idea for such a confined space?

That is a marine unit. Tom is also into sailboats. Be very careful as more than one person has died due to carbon monoxide from inproper installation. It is cool.

Take a look, also, at JCFerguson's remodel thread. He put in a marine stove, but IIRC, it's not like a fireplace, more like a stove.

Hi Tim,

I was always wanting a fireplace in our home, which didn't come w/one (we have a tiny home, only 1050 sq ft.)..so my mind started to wander about making the Safari a nice little place to have a wood/fake wood, electric, LP, or anything that would resemble a fireplace..I think I'm going to really look into this..if I can have a microwave, and our A/C that we put in a couple of years ago, then the next step would be to go for a fireplace!!!..hmm, wait til I present that idea to my hubby!

Marinestove.com for the Little Cod, they also have a Sardine model. I was raised in N.H. and we heated out home with 4 woodburners. It truly is the best kind of warm there is. P.S. We may know a few of the same folks plane people that is Tim
