Is this Airstream a Lost Cause

Just saw this on Ebay, the link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7910379264 if you want to look, but I placed the pictures here so others could see them even after the item is gone from ebay.

Wonder what happened. Short in trailer? Smoking in Bed? Propane caused fire?

What do you think?

This was for sale about two months ago. They claim there was a leak in the fridge that got sparked off or that the burner from the fridge did this.

Looks like there may be some good exterior panels, windows and such - if it could be had for under a grand it might be good for parts....?

Getting it for free would be a good price. You still have to haul it away and that is not cheap.

It'd be perfect for cutting the end cap off, and putting in your house as the shell to a custom entertainment center, putting a plasma t.v. in where the window goes.

Guess I've been watching way too much Monster House.

That whole frame, axle and wheels would still be good too, theoretically, right? Maybe not.

That trailer belonged to forum member AV8. It WAS an immaculate trailer before the fire. Good axles and tires, solid frame. Near perfect exterior.

I inspected it for him down here in Florida prior to his purchase. Do a search on his member name, and you will find posts regarding how the fire took place.

He has since purchased a newer Airstream and is probably out West somewhere with his family traveling and enjoying the Airstream life style!
