This guy has a HOSTS file available for download which has a ton of ad sites listed in it for blocking purposes.

This would be my biggest complaint about IE. You can't block all the adds or popups from every site... I spend a lot of time on other web pages.. With firefox or Safari It takes care of all the pop ups and ads on other pages without having to edit stuff..

This is just my two cents. If you spend most of your time here I guess it doesn't matter.

I used to really like this forum and after I bought another brand and started visiting another forum I was wishing that it was set up like this one. Not now! I don’t like the ads and everything is squinted up into a much smaller area than it used to be with the ads creating a border all around the page. It isn’t encouraging at all. Wish it was better.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Funny thing is, I use Safari on my mac and have never seen an Ad or pop up. on any page and no blank spots everything is nice an big.

Same when I'm on the pc. I use Firefox and don't see any ads or popups and nothing is left blank or smashed together.

When You put in the ad block plus you need to download the the blockers that go in it. or update it to get them .

The only ad I ever see is for the Classifieds and I don't mind seeing those.

Well here I am again with another ???
After installing Firefox and the adblocker, I have this little box telling me that additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page. In this toolbar there is a button to click saying install missing plugins. The thing is that when I click on this button, I get a plugin finder service box that gets me nowhere. I click the next button and well it all just seems to be a huge runaround that comes back to an icon on my homepage with no clear(to me anyhow) instructions about opening somewhere. Anyway I have no clue about any of this ##@%. Can anyone explain this rigamaroll to somebody that is completly clueless about this stuff. At this point IE was much more simple and easy to deal with than Firefox. Anyway, Thanks

I just installed Foxfire too. It wanted Adobe flash player 10. Thing is before it had it and after the ad blocker no wavy guy and after I installed flash player there he was again. I took out flash player but then I couldn't watch any streaming videos. So now I have both browsers but the IE after Crustez workaround has no wavy guy and I can still watch MSNBC news videos.

Hi Silverhawk,

Are you assuming the thinking position when you use Firefox? Try this, it may help.

Are you annoyed by now?

Hi Forum members;
Past couple of months I have avoided visiting our forums, simply because of the extremely annoying buggy eye maniac who is waiving his hands in my face, not just in one spot, but in two. I understand that forum needs this income, but is it necessary to settle for such very annoying ad? Can we dress him in a straight jacket? I was brought up in way where waiving your hands in someone's face was not polite or acceptable. What about rest of you? Thanks. "Boatdoc"

Yes, highly annoyed. If you use Firefox, you can install a flash blocker program that will take care of the problem.

I am beyond annoyed. If I knew what he was selling, (and I don't have a clue) I certainly would NOT buy it. The ad is not effective.

Try the thread, Is There A Way. You are not alone with being annoyed.
I like the straight jacket idea.
