Sweet looking little Caravel in Bloomington, Indiana. Not sure what kind of "best offer" they'd accept, but I'd sure be curious to know what kind of damage they're talking about.
Posted on Feb 18, 2008. It's not Craigslist, but interesting. According to RJ Dial's site, only 10 Romany's were made. Could this be one of them? I phoned the seller and this coach did have a Romany Cruiser layout. Check Fred Coldwell's article from a back issue of the Vintage Advantage. It's gutted now but would be cool for someone wanting to start with a clean palette. If I were closer to Maine, I'd check it out.
I know of one '54 and one '55 Romany Cruiser belonging to Forum members -- nobody in Maine though. 1955 also saw a 26' Cruiser-Overlander. The "romny ?" in the ad isn't real convincing. It loses a lot of value as a Romany if it's gutted. He has an "aircrafe epoxy molded floor" that needs to be installed? How much does that weigh?! Is it a proven design? And does it contribute (or not) to the perceived $2500 value? Scratching head now...
We'll assume the seller can interpret his VIN or properly measure this as a 26 footer. I see what you mean at R.J. Dial's site -- that's mentioned on the '55 Cruiser page -- I'm assuming R.J. is making a blanket statement for both '54 & '55? He & Fred do work together so I'll bet it's as accurate as we can tell some fifty-three years later.
Saw these, and asked about 'em. No answer - good luck to anybody who does!
I saw these too and my "scam-o-meter" went off. There has got to be a reason this guy is dumping these so cheap. Your unanswered email further confirms my suspicions.

Buyer Beware!
I bought 2 30lb Aluminum tanks last month at a rally for 50 bucks each. The guy had a bunch more, and sold-um all.
