Brad,
I want to help...

I can have my Trade Wind parked in your side yard in about an hour. Go crazy and polish all you want. Maybe that would be the best therapy.

That's not good therapy at all. First of all, it would be outdoors and you know what its like out there. Second, mine is at the head of the line for another annual polishing, although its been 4 years. Third, yours looks just fine the way it is.

How about you come up to British Columbia? Bring your fly rods and polishing gear. You can help cure your illness on my trailer between hatches.

Hummmmm this is the worst outbreak of ALUMINITIS I have seen. I'm sorry I'm of no help cause I have it too. Everytime I get near that trailer I have the urge to work on it.
I just don't know.

The chair looks great! I too suffer from the disease. I just found out the rims on my Vespa are aluminum under the dull grey paint.....humm....they would look so gooood shineyyyy! My husband has told me to stop the insanity! (I still think they'd look better shiny!)

Why is it I feel I need to polish everything associated with my vintage Airstream? I'm sick, I know.

Brad,

The polish and the rags are on the pic nic table. Have fun. I'll leave the door unlocked, plenty of beverages in fridge.

Oh, by the way, Bertha is only 31 ft long, so some one else will need to assist with your treatment by providing one when you're finished with bertha.

Have you noticed there are more shiny aluminum trailers as part of the 18 wheelers? I think it started several years ago with one trucking company and is spreading.

I find I am annoyed when I see a dirty one. I am now worried I will stop for gas at a truck stop and start polishing the trucks.

Not to make you envious but I have a pair of those chairs - but they are badly in need of polishing - what did you use to polish and how did you do it?

I've used boiled linseed oil on the wood - which does a nice job.

I'm envious and will be even more so when you post a picture of your finished results.

I used Nutive S with a terry cloth rag and for the slats I sanded down to the wood and coated with Minwax Natural Cherry Satin PolyShades which is a combination of stain and polyurethane.

Yes, I did the aluminum by hand.

New to All of This

I'm going to start sending you parts to polish. The chair is nice, but wouldn't you rather polish something attached to a vintage Airstream? (JK) BTW, I could use that lifter and two T's Can you get in touch with LHall. He was going to send me a fan and blade and put with some stuff you may send.

No, you'll have too many to polish. LHall is out of town until after the weekend. We already discussed getting together and I still need to find those parts in my parts boxes.

Hold tight. Don't get your rivets in a bunch.
