Good luck with your search

here's a few others I found with similar Texas Ware, there are lots of the glasses in different patterns on those pages too that are pretty cool.

vintage melmac and melamine

VINTAGE 1950'S BOONTON MELMAC PINK CREAMER (PLASTIC DINNERWARE: MELMAC, MELAMINE, TEXAS WARE, PROLON) at DECADES

Collectible and Antique Dinnerware, Melmac on CYBERATTIC.

Annie Spandex Melmac Dinnerware

Texas-Ware, made by the Plastics Manufacturing Co. of Dallas, Texas.
2700 S Westmoreland Rd
Dallas, TX 75233
214-330-8671

So common is Texas-Ware that it became a generic term for Melmac dishes, just as the brand name "Kleenex" became the generic term for facial tissues. Texas-Ware later became Dallas-Ware, and is evidently still in production.

And just a fum melmac page I found. Is that where Alf is from???

My better half is out of town, however I did forward her the picture,.

She appraises antiques and such for estates. I will respond back when she tells me. Maybe she will know.

I know Brookpark had a square line, but the bowls don't have the handles. There's a couple of sets on ebay right now...search item numbers 270306908851, 370116334396 and 370116334466. There were lots of different manufacturers of Melmac during the 50's some more popular than others. Here's a few of the bigger names to begin your search on ebay...

Prolon
Watertown
Boonton
Branchell
Texas Ware
Russell Wright
Royalon
Harmony House

The fun thing is, you can collect mismatched pieces and they all look great together! I have Prolon, Branchell, Watertown and a few oddball unmarked pieces in our GT and Boonton for our Safari.

I think Arlen & Shirley have the same square bowls w/handles on their website...you could email them to and ask what brand they are specifically.

My "Black Friday" bargain.

We were driving back from visiting family in Ohio for Thanksgiving and made a stop at the giant Heartland Antique Mall near Dayton, Ohio along highway 70 and found a fabulous set of Boontonware for the trailer! It even came with an original guarantee card with stock items and their numbers, which identifies all pieces as Belle, Modern Design except for the creamer and sugar, which are Boonton, but not on this card. We've been looking at different styles and trying to decide on what to get when this was right there waiting for us and we think it's perfect (although Mike says we have to use the pink last in our choice of colors!)

As InsideOut mentioned above, do an Ebay search. If the brand names don't match your pattern, search for melmac, melamine, or even plastic dishes. Often Ebay sellers don't know brand/pattern names. I have purchased most of the melmac tableware for our AS through Ebay at very good prices. Good luck!

We have a extensive set of PROLON (8 settings plus serving dishes) that has been with the Tradewind since it was new in '59. It fits the late 50's perfectly. We love it.
