I’ve been evicted, but my wife is so smart.

With the permission of the owner of the vacant house next door, I have my Argosy in their driveway. I do not have room in mine. With a power cord from my house I have been doing a complete rehab. Started with the total gutting (putting all of the interior in the neighbors garage.), raised the shell, replaced the floor, reattach the shell, buttoned up the outside. Just in time for Wisconsin winter to settle in. Wanting to plug away a little each day, I just finished the new wiring. Next step was to insulate. Today the Bank decided to put the house up for sale. I was told I had to get everything out of the garage and the camper out of the drive BY TONIGHT.
My wife is so smart. She suggested to get written permission from the owner. This bought me some time. I now have until this Sunday to have everything out.
The plan is to load everything from the garage into the camper. Move it to our cottage.
The sad part is I won’t be able to work on it till spring.
The real sad part, I had to tell my wife she was right to get the written permission.

Tiger, I feel your pain. My wife's been right once or twice, too. So hard to admit....

I also feel your pain at having your progress temporarily halted. The good thing is that Spring is only a few months away. Then you can get back at it, all fresh and rested (unless someone in your household finds something for you to do with all that spare time you'll have...)

Sounds like you made some great progress while it lasted - you must be pretty close to putting it back together

Sorry to hear you lost your great parking spot. I would offer one suggestion. When you move it to your cottage. Jack it up take the tires and wheels off it and take em home with ya. Let it down on some kind of wood blocking.Because you are not close, this will deter THEFT. Well pretty much anyway.
GOOD LUCK
Roger

Actually, I find it satisfying to tell my wife that she is right frequently.

It's fun to watch her try to figure out what I'm up to.

Need to get you another trailer to store the parts from the good trailer in...that is sort of what I did.

My 1980 came to me partially gutted, so the pieces being stripped out of my 1975 went in there, when I get done with it, I plan on a new custom interior of some sort for the 1980.

I doubt that a letter from the owner of the home would have done any good once the bank took over.

It's too cold here to work on campers.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Ok it’s not a true foreclosure. The Bank kept the deed in the neighbor’s name.
#1 I suspect the bank did not want to get in a debate.
#2 When I gave them an option of moving it to my driveway that day or I take to the cottage this weekend, I heard the guy say into his phone “it would be an eye sore when people came to look at the house”.
I AM SO TEMPTED. If I only had room in my drive.

Bankers, gotta love 'em. Beauty, or in this case an eye sore, is in the eye of the beholder. Hard to say what mental image was conjured up by the banker.

As far as people coming to look at the house, there is an old adage in (Wisconsin) real estate sales that basically nothing happens between Thanksgiving and the Super Bowl. Of course in today's economy, it's more like ....nothing happens for a long while.

'tosa is a really nice city. I bought my first house there in 1973.

Good luck moving her to the cottage this weekend.

It's only been a week, but I miss her already.

The drive went smooth. To my surprise, my neighbor at the cottage had plowed the snow before I got there.

Do you think she misses me?
