I need a good one night stay off on interstate 24 TN

We will be leaving Atlanta about 7:00 P.M. for Southern Illinois in October and we need to pull over and crash for about 6 hours somewhere off the interstate. I want a safe place not far off the interstate where I can sleep. I do not need any amenities because once I wake up I am on the road. I figure anywhere from about 30 minutes north of Chattanooga up past the mountains. I will be good for about 3:30 minutes driving before I get to tired to drive.

Do you know of place that you could recommend?

I don't see a Flying J on your route but any Cracker Barrel is a good choice.

With the length of your unit, you might like this better, I have found a lot of crackerbarrels have small parking lots and problem entering and exiting.

Walmart makes a good stop especially if in that rush to get out you have forgotten something.

There is a Cracker Barrel in Cleveland, about 30 minutes north on I-75 and another one at exit 60 above Athens, TN, still on I-75. Have fun on your trip!

If you can make nashville there are several great courtesy parkings.

How long will you be in S. IL?

Thanks. I will check both of those places out. I am thinking north of Chattanooga about 45 minutes. I figure a good three hours after I hit the road I will be needing to make the stop. If I can fall asleep about 11 and get up about 4:30 A.M to 5:30 A.M. I will be good to make the rest of the trip

Soldermedic:

I will be off Friday and we will leave about 10:00 A.M on monday. That is why I want to get out Thursday night so I can maximise my time off.

My mother lives near the Wal Mart, in Manchester, Tn, i called her real quick to see how that store would be for you to stop. She said that everytime she goes out there a few campers are in the lot. Said it is a nice, clean , and safe area.
Have a good trip

Hey, what about courtesy parking? I'm 20 miles north of Chattanooga. See below for amenities. 6 miles off I75. Walmart in between us & I75. PM or respond here if interested.

Sorry, didn't realize you'd be going up I-24 instead of I-75. I'd be out of your way. Anyone is welcome.

You guys have provided with me with some good places to check out. I got in touch with the KOA in Manchester but i would be paying about $40.00 for about 6 hours sleep. We may still do that option

I have a generator that I could run on the back of my truck for electricity. I need electricity for my CPAP machine. I have very bad sleep Apnea. I am going to check out my amps on the cpap and see how long I could run it off my airstream battery.

Keep those wonderful ideas coming. The other option is to crash when I get home from work and leave at 3:30 A.M. and drive it all in one run.

Brian,
Can you let me know how long your c-pap last on battery. Mine pulls 1.5 amps.
