THANKS just doesn't cover it

Paula!
I agree...and & BTW, "I agree" is another Karma worthy reason that seems awkward with "thanks"

About Thanks:
I wish I could thank someone without having the message include a lecture about how they should use the thanks button.

My Karma philosophy:
Others cannot bestow Karma on you. You earn Karma from within by how you live your life. If you post something you consider worthwhile, feel good about it. Don't rely on others to make you feel good.

Regards,
Ken

I prefer THANK YOU......

I suppose we could not bestow karma, but we could recognize that another person has earned it.

Perhaps we need the following buttons: thanks, karma, you're hot, you're an idiot, yo mama, or write your own in the button.

"Thanks" has become more than just "thanks". It is now also for messages maybe because it's easier than using the PM function. I just got a 3 line message. There's nothing wrong with this, but maybe we need a "short message" button too.

Ever since the word 'Karma" pushed someones buttons we're all paying the price for it. Why not consider something like giving "rivets"? You could give someone rivets to express all of the same reasons for giving karma - and - they can even be considered a virtual good luck charm too!

Now come on, the vast majority of folks here think the thanks button is totally lame and it is rarely used anymore. Over 80% of the people who responded to the survey want to see Karma come back. Why is no body listening? I'll keep that in mind when it's time to make another monetary contribution to the forum. If others follow suite we'll see how fast that gets their attention.

Jim -- Settle... settle.. settle..

I would end up pointing fingers if I recounted the history of complaints that led to karma being relegated to the back burner. I'm not entirely clear on the following -- whether karma was a holdover under old software or what. But I've read from Andy R that there's no going back.

I prefer karma. I give 'thanks' frequently and rarely without using the word karma in my message. I'm still pi**ed that this was pi**ed away. It had something old fashioned (can ya tell I grew up in the 60s-70s?). Until then I can only leave you with -
Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin'
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin' at fools like me
Who in the hell d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Everyone come on.

Hopefully we won't end up analyzing the lyrics to 'I Found Out' or 'God.' Too much tumult, cause it would.
