I got a ticket -- Social Knowledge
So, I received an email (personal email at my work address - not a private message on this site) saying that I got a ticket and it is being reviewed by staff at Social Knowledge, LLC. There's a link to review the status, but when I click on it, I get a message that I don't have permissions to access the page.
Anyone know what the heck is this about? I am totally lost.
It references this post of mine: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f439...lly-46949.html
Weird.....

Oh - I did try to plug in the email & password provided in the message but I get this:
Fatal error: ERROR: You do not have access to this ticket. in /home/social/public_html/support/modules/tickets/client_tickets.php on line 168
still just as lost on what this is all about.....

Don't know what is happening in your case, maybe ask a moderator. But in my case i received a couple of them a while back and it was just a software glitz.
Either that or you have to watch your violations, three tickets and the state will take your license away.

Speeding?
AIR stickers are radar absorbent and you'll never get a ticket if you put one on your vehicle...
The 'Contact us' link at the bottom of the page goes to tech support. That generates a work order or "ticket" that requires a response back to you and close-out when an issue has been taken care of. Your email takes note of that ticket.
You will receive an email if you receive a PM or a subscribed thread gets posted to. As instructed one should always click the link in that email; any email reply to this type of email also goes to tech support. Thus a "ticket" notification may be sent to these folks too.
You can generally ignore and discard these ticket emails. I've looked at eliminating them but it would require live surgery in the heart of the forums software -- without anesthesia and without a net -- just too dangerous to contemplate.
Thanks for asking though. You're doing well!

If you go to the lower right corner of the page there is a link to Social Knowledge LLC
Social Knowledge - Online Community Network
On that link there is a way to send a message for Technical Support.
I would ask them. If they don't recognize it I would forget it.

Go back to my post please. 'Ticket' is a misleading word and is part of the process of using tech support. It would be just as hard to change if it said "Free Aluminum."

Okay - I'm still really lost. But, if it's not a problem, I'll just ignore it.

You can ignore it. Anyone who contacts the help desk, either on purpose or by accident gets a 'ticket'. It's really just an e-receipt of the contact. It has a number on it that is assigned to your issue. If you accidentally try to reply to an e-mailed notice of a thread update or private message alert, you will get one of these.
Remember that while you may get e-mail notices of thread updates, you have to log into the forums to respond to them. Do not respond via e-mail. If you do, the folks at the help desk will receive your response but no one on the forum will.

These days, never ever click on a link in an e-mail unless you are absolutely positively sure that it is from a trusted and known source and you have checked the header of the message to make sure it has not been scammed. The odds of a phishing expedition are just too high to take chances.
Even then, the best bet is to use your browser bookmarks to visit the site that was linked to make sure you have a trusted link to a site you have verified by other means.

Just to pile on, the term "ticket" to many of us technocrats is equivalent to a work order, a problem report etc. It's numbered and is referenced and keeps us from forgetting situations or work to be done.
I think I first got exposed to this term back in the 70's when we used to open trouble tickets (at least that's what they called them) to the local telco for problems with data circuits. No one ever explained why they called them "tickets".
So as noted by the other moderators don't get concerned, consider tickets as our back office post-it notes.
