Last week we left Wednesday for the annual Hotter-n-Hell 100 bike race, 65 miles away. We saw 2, a Bambi and a newer model. The HH 100 is a big event, over 14,000 participants and likely 6000 family members if not more so there are over 20,000 people that come to a city of 110,000. That's a lot of tourism for an event. We were advised (first year taking our AS) to get there no later than Thursday morning if we wanted power and water hookup, since there are usually about 800-1000 TT's, Motorhomes. There was only 1 other AS, an older maybe 60's model. Was ok with us, since we were the novelty. Several people came by. I backed in our neighbors 5th wheel behemoth. Nice couple from OKC. He sent her ahead with the trailer (she'd never driven with it) and couldn't get the backing up part... Part of the mountain bike trail went thru our campground since we were by the river (where there was shady camp sites) 3 people had low tires or flats and we were the only people who offered our bike tire pump. One group came in 3 sob's. One needed a water hose, another an extension cord for power. We had extra so we shared. I will say that the AS owners we meet are always nice and friendly. The others, not so much percentage wise...
