I'm a year younger than my trailer, but I still wonder what I want to be when I grow up!

A friend of mine likes to ask: "How old would you think you'd be if you didn't know how old you was?"

I recently hiked down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (My 6th time) for my birthday with some youngsters in their early 60's and 50's. There was a couple down there at the Phantom Ranch celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

64, with 2 new knees to allow the balance of this trip to be a lot more fun.

Young enough to do it often, and old enough to do it right.

Laura - oh, is that TMI?

I'm 50. In WBCCI years that's spelled y-o-u-n-g! That said, Airstreamers don't grow old until they park their aluminum. I have met very active folks in their 80s who act, look, and feel 60.

You all seem so young. Where are all my fellow septuagenerians and whatever the 80-somethings are called (octuagenerians?).

When my driver's license said I was 60, I couldn't say it out loud, nor type it. How did this happen to me? Now I want to go back to that age. I can still do anything I could do then, but it takes longer, hurts more and gives me the wonderful opportunity to complain. I can't say my age out loud nor type it. Emotional age varies—some days it's 4, others 15 or 20, or 125 when everything aches.

At least I know I was built before the war (WW II to you young whippersnappers) when things were made better.

My trophy wife was built years after the war, but she's still built.

A year or so ago Rodney said on the Forum that anyone over 65 only keeps their Airstream for 5 years because we are so old. I'm at 3 1/3 Airstream years, so I have 1 2/3 to go before I keel over. Despite my decrepitude, we still managed to tow the Safari about 15,000 miles last year including going to Alaska from far north of the Arctic Circle to Homer and lots of other places.

I turned 50 in December. Looking forward to 50 more. Hopefully with many trips in the Argosy.

We're both 64 and hoping for at least 20 years of retirement. That means I've been enjoying camping in one form or another for about 60 years.

I think you'll find it's hard to get a job at 84.
