We had a good 100 or so here at the campground this evening. It started this morning with a scavenger hunt, and the kids (not ours) have been involved in activities all day.
Even the rain did not keep them away.

Where we live in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, we usually don't get any trick-or-treaters. We have been in the same house for fourteen years, and have only gotten one trick-or-treater in all those years.

We've only had two trick or treaters in the eight years that we've lived in our home. (There are 50 steps before you even hit our front door.) Most parents look up at our house and say things like, "Let's try that other house."
Every year Gemma buys tons of candy in hopes that we'll have some visitors. Every year Murray dutifully eats all of the candy that wasn't distributed.
We just relocated to a new town last month so we didn't really know what to expect. We asked some of the neighbors how many they usually have to get some idea of how many treats to stock up on so we had 120 treats ready to go.
It started good as we had the first 3 before 5pm which is a little earlier than the town we had moved from.By 6:30 we had 15 and that was it.
I feel a diet is a distinct possibility in the near future.
We live out in the boonies too, on a private road, and all the kids in the families on the road have grown up, or they take them into town for the trick or treat experience. Since we're a mostly rural community, the town holds a special Halloween event so the rural kids can come into town and trick or treat all the businesses on main st.
In ten years here we've only gotten one trick or treater, so I just lock the driveway gate and leave the lights off anymore.
We have scary music playing outside with and our 15 mos old lab is outside greeting the kids.. I bet she thinks she is in a bad "B" movie or something...
None - our local merchants host trick-or-treating for area children, so we have only had about 3 kids show up at our doorstep in the 9 years we've lived here. We still buy candy just in case.

where we live in Concord, ca. the streets are a little chewed up and the kids dont come around as much as they did in my other house . I am giving out full packs of skittles and maybe that will get the word out. I miss seeing the little guys ( and gals ) . Hope for more next year.
we shut the lights off at 7:15 after 28 big bags of candy (our neighborhood gets hit hardest in town). Earliest we've run out ever in 10 years, about 600 kids.
