We have some candy, but the trick-or-treaters would really, really be desperate to come out here. I expect to give away the candy at work for the rest of the week. Customers and employees flying around the place...

I have candy here, but it's all mine. The joys of living in a gated community.

I live out in the boonies. Used to get candy every year and noone would show up- then one year, the doorbell rang and I got so excited! Candy in hand, I greeted the would be trick or treat-er....there he was, dressed in two-tone brown-like a UPS driver! Hooray! He informed me that he wasn't a trick or treat-er- that he WAS the UPS guy...I made him take candy anyway- he was the only one we have had in over 15 years.

Now matter how hard I try, I can't get trick or treaters at my various city residences I've had over the years (4th place since 2008). Now I have to hope that no kids actually come because we stopped buying candy. We used to buy a bunch just in case, but then no one would show and I would coincidentally gain 10 pounds.

11 straight years here and the count is still zero. Everybody out in the boonies is either old, too far away or made their kids work all day on the ranch and they're too tired to move. The UPS man was here earlier, but he brought something and we didn't have any candy anyway.

In the previous 11 years when we lived in an old rural subdivision I don't think we saw more than a few kids there over that period.

Kids don't walk anymore, so most are seen in urban areas and subdivisions with smaller lots I guess.

Living in the country we don't get any trick or treaters. In fact I asked my hubby where do all of the kids that live in the country or on a ranch trick or treat?

So sad This is our first year out here with no trick or treaters.

I did however get to see cute kids dressed in costumes on my Facebook page, so not all was lost.

Happy Halloween
