Life is more fun when you participate

Here is a mobile up load picture of Erin and I getting ready to do our turn at the steps.
Sorry it is not the best picture. This is almost all of our group. And one of Molly and Megan with me.

Well, we have you all topped. Since we moved into our house 16 years ago, we have never had any less 800-1000 kids!!!

Our first year, we unknowingly gave out quarters, but after reaching an amount close to a mortgage payment, we switched to dimes, then nickles, and finally common sense, ran out to a Walgreen's and got a bunch off candy...

Saturday started early with kids arriving about 3:45PM. We went through 850 pieces of candy (one per customer) and called it quits at 7:00PM. Two years ago, I decided to photograph some of the kids. Below is a link, but you need to either be on a Mac, or have Quicktime installed on your PC. Video may take some time to load as well.

Trick or treat!

We are expecting our witches and goblins in one hour. Last year we had 264 kids!

Time to get our costumes on!

This is the first Halloween in this house so we are unsure about the turnout. Our home in St. Louis usually was stead for a few hours. San Antonio is a whole different monster

The sky is clear and it will be a cool night in San Diego...

So we expect kids, goblins and other creatures of the night to come tapping on our chamber door.

But first, one last check of the trailer and truck, especially the mudflaps, before the sun sets and the show starts...

We camp every Halloween we can and this year we had 100+ kids come through. There were hay rides and an ice cream.

Great weather and a great crowd.

We had 1. 1 Trick or treater. Our house is a side entry garage on a cul-du-sac, and people really couldn't see our lights on. I even took the fire dancer out to the drive with a few camp chairs and candy, but no other folks. What a WASTE.

We live 4 mi. from town, and in 37 years we've NEVER had trick or treators! Oh, how we miss those little goblins!

We had a brother and a sister come to our door. We're new here in Ottawa, and also had no idea what to expect. Kinda sad, but that's life, right?

This way though we get to keep the sugar buzz to ourselves...

If it's to be, it's up to me.
