Come to California!

It was 83 F in San Luis Obispo, CA today. Been driving around with the top down on the car quite a bit. Down to 40 last night. Heading over to Morro Bay with the Airstream this weekend. Should be really nice. Plan to do some bike riding and kayaking. I lived in the Adirondacks near Saranac Lake, New York for 3 years and remember quite a few -25 days, so I can relate to you folks freezing your butts off now.

Low of -35 C. overnight in Manitoba, Canada. We've had a couple of weeks of similar temps. Lots of wind as well.
Days are getting longer now and sun is warmer. Hydro and gas companies are smiling!

Sometimes I wonder why I ever left Upstate NY. I grew up in the Finger Lakes area which I think is one of the most beautiful areas of the country. When I read the posts here and see pictures like the ones that wheel interested posted I'm again reminded of the reason why I now live in the sunny Southwest.

Air temp in Chicago is a current toasty -10 degrees F, with wind chills of -30 degrees F.

Today's high air temp you ask? -3F!

-22*f in Iowa City... going for a high today of -10*... current wind-chill, -36*f up from -45*f last night.

After I'm done blowing snow today, I'm going to sit by the pool under the palm trees and have a drink. Yes, it's so cold, I'm delusional.
