...Altus Oklahoma...35 tonight, the booger bear is the windchill but the AS is underpinned cleverly with light-wind blocking plywood...we dispise the wind here...one day the Walmart bags fly north...then another day the Walmart bags go south

Exclamation It's 0

Right now it's 0 degrees here in beautiful New Boston, NH. Our pellet stoves are not keeping up with our heating needs and the oil furnace has kicked in. In an effort to conserve resources and $$$ we keep the house at 64 degrees during the day and at 58 degrees at night (it's warmer then that in the room where we have the main pellet stove, second stove keeps the cellar out of the frost). But it's still expensive to heat our home this year. Heating fuel costs are cutting into my Airstream upgrades budget.

We are bouncing from 3 degrees Wednesday morning to a promised high of 65 on Sunday. At least the temps are moving in the right direction! Of course, the next week's forecast shows a plunge to polar conditions again...riding the Missouri rollercoaster. ~G

funny thing:
I have a oil furnace, but no chimney...it uses a power vent to suck the exhaust fumes out of the house. Well, the vent unit is old and rusty, and needs to be replaced. gonna fall apart any time. Oil man had scheduled to do the job yesterday.

They called and cancelled. "too cold".

(good thing it hasn't completely quit!)

I did see "0" yesterday. it was "2" thismorning...

Not cold, around 50 today. But man is the rain blowing sideways! There were 3 trucks blown over today on a bridge in 'Frisco - one landed on a fire engine.

-8 C

Much warmer than when I awoke to -22. Have had 4 snow storms in 7 days. Accumulation of snow, to date, is approximately 150cm.
If only I was a winter person...........................
