It's time to revive this thread. The 2008 4th of July Holiday is right around the corner! How are YOU celebrating? Are you going anywhere?
We are taking the Airstream to Morro Bay State Park, CA for the 4th. We have some Canadian and local relatives who will be tenting at the site with us. Planning on a BBQ on the 4th followed by fireworks and campfire that evening. There will also be kayaking, bike riding, hiking and plenty of relaxing!
Well I'm excited to say we are heading south for the Fourth. First stop will be the Petersen Automotive Museum. Petersen Automotive Museum They are doing a Auto camp to Airstream exhibit. In which we are really looking forward to checking it out. From there we are heading east to Big Bear, Ca. There we are going to relax, eat, drink and watch fire works. I hope every on has a safe and sane weekend.

Life is like a roller coaster, a whole lot of up's and down's..
We are making our family tradition trip to Ft. Wilderness at Walt Disney World for the week of the 4th. Every year they have a golf cart parade on the 4th where guest can decorate their golf carts however they want and enter the parade. There is a contest with several categories. We don't enter the parade preferring to sit on the sidelines and admire everyone's creativity! Last year there were over 160 golf carts in the parade. Of course while we are there we spend some quality time with Mickey, Minnie and the gang as well as enjoy one of the nicest campgrounds in the country.
I, too, hope every one has a safe and happy July 4th. Please remember those who have served our country in the past and present so that we can celebrate our independence and the freedoms we enjoy. God bless our troupes and Godspeed for their safe return.

We are stay-at-homes on the 4th most years, perferring to hit the road when not so many others are traveling too. We'll have fireworks over the pond since we've had abundant rain this year, enjoy all the neighbors' fireworks too, cookout with whichever kids and grandkids choose to celebrate out here, and hopefully, find the bruhaha has quieted down by the time we're ready to snooze. Oh, and we'll watch some of the great celebrations around the country on tv off and on through the evening. One of our best 4th's was spent on the beach of Lake Superior at a little town called Grand Marais, fireworks over the harbor and a full moon to add to the sparkle. A few days earlier, we had driven to Fort William, Thunderbay, Ontario, and shared Canada Day celebrations there on July 1. Enjoy this grand American day, and safe travels if you head out on the open road! ~G

Hey Minni
Just returned from FW on the 16th, HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT like every year, don't know how many years you been camping there but, my first was 1973. Stopped camping in there in 88, retuned last year for the first time in the camp ground. It was much nicer in the beginning, lots of vegitation and you couldn't see you neighbor if you didn't want to. No golf carts back then, all walking and you rode trams right up to when all the memorial bricks are now at magic kingdom. Fourths was always our favorite time but its just gotten too hot, at least we're getting older. Anyway enough babling. Have a great time, gas on property was $3.99/reg. From Gainsville to the gate $405 ++++++.
