Need everyones help. After the Wedding Rally, Sandi and I would like to travel to Maine for a week. Does anyone know of a good campground on the ocean? We don't really need a sandy beach, just want to sit outside of our AS and see the ocean.
Any help would be great!

Milbridge has a nice little campground that sits up on a bluff overlooking the water and the town . Also Jonesport , town owned , right in the harbor . It only has about 10 sites , last I knew only electric , but walking distance to lobster, very unique.
Southport and Boothbay Harbor are beautiful. Spent many Teenage Summers there. Make sure you go to the South end of Southport island. Great view of the Light House and ocean.

I vote for Wolf Neck Woods in Freeport. LL Bean is nearby.
Is this trip scheduled for mud season, bug season, the 2 weeks of summer, hunting season or winter?

I think we're talkin' late mud/early bug. definately not the 2 weeks of summer....so it must be "bug".
Oceanwood Campground in Winter Harbor, Maine is the most unique cg we have been in on the Maine coast, and we have been visiting the coast yearly for the last 10 years. It is just outside of the lesser visited but more scenic part of Acadia NP on the Schoodic Penninsula. It is rustic but has a charm which will always call you back. A couple of the sites are along the water. They are very sensitive to everyone's privacy and do not allow anything to destroy the mood of this cg. For example, they do not allow stringing outside lights as it interferes with stargazing in the evening. If you want to be alone in a special place along the Maine coast, we would highly recommend this cg. We have stayed here 3 times but haven't been back in several years only because we had a 37' moho and the roads could get a little tight but plan on going back now that we have the AS.

you might try Recompence Shore (at Wolf's Neck Farm) 207-865-9307. None of the ocean view sites have hook-ups but the views are very nice, also a stairway down to a kayak launch area and a rocky beach . It is a working cattle farm, the campground is a horseshoe which surrounds the farm. The small camp store has a selection of the meats and fresh dairy, nice folks. Freeport is just up the street, more shopping than you can mention. We go often and always enjoy ourselves.
Best Wishes

Sandi, was your Dad John Gould, worked for Pratt & Whitney in Ct.??
This is really great! Keep them coming. For those of you who don't know, Sandi and I are getting married at the New England Unit Wedding Rally June 1 -3, 2007 in Wakefield. So yes, it looks like the beginning of bug season.
