Amazing colors! What kind of dyes do you use? Thanks

Thank you. Just regular dye's, food coloring (lots of drops), vinegar, boiling water. I do use brown eggs and leave them in for 5 minutes. A neighbor has chickens and donated the petite bantams with specks.

I thought maybe you had used vegetable dyes.

If you started with brown eggs, that may explain the deep and gorgeous colors.

Yep striking eggs, beautiful cards. Great crafting and all that.

But can I go back to that dream boat of yours, fantastic car.
That was about the peak of the big winged, space age style period, and what a great example. I remember those satellite inspired tail lights.
Are the panels above the doors tinted Windows/skylights?
It's going to look amazing with your trailer in tow.

A book I think you would enjoy is
Teardrops and Tiny trailers. By Douglas Heister

It features a wide variety of vintage trailers towed by an array of classic vintage cars, hot rods, and trucks. Really nice pairings.
You are well on you way to joining the best of them.

Can't wait for more pics.
Is it pink?

Cheers Richard

Richard/Tevake

Thank you. They are not tinted sections but some models have a highlighted color in those inserts.

Guess they took a step back during design and said, less is not more, where can we add just a but more chrome.

More pics next week. We intentionally didn't tow it home this weekend as we have are having company tomorrow and I didn't want them to think we had totally lost our minds. What with three vintage campers in the driveway they already think we're partway there.

Oh well were camping and happy.

Good choice on the Imperial. A beautiful car. Designer Virgil Exner did an amazing job. I think the jet age dash and push button transmission may be my favorite part of the design beyond the fins. I don't have an Imperial but have come close. But in meantime I can offer a word of warning from a fellow unusual pink car owner. Be prepared to be noticed wherever you go and for the endless questions and comments about it. It is kind of like the aluminum trailer syndrome but on steroids. Thank you Jarrod, that photo of your son with Stella is priceless.

Saw these tables at Tuesdays and thought they would make great Airstream occasional cocktail tables. Didn't get any but cute nonetheless.

Doing some driveway improvements so we can bring the Imperial home.Click image for larger version

Up in Kingman for a car show this weekend and saw something I just had to share.
This may keep your juices flowing till you can pick yours up.

Wow Richard that's gorgeous, thanks for remembering. Our pick up day is Friday. Going to tuck it between our Airstreams for some sun protection and put up a shade tent type structure.

The new tow vehicle is home. So exciting. Would love to clean her out and wash her up today but got some other obligations. For now she is in the driveway with friends.Click image for larger version

Promised the seller a ride when we get her running. He's an older gentleman so we shouldn't dally on this project. But all in time.

Thank you Maggie, working on some floral arrangements instead but might go out and sit in her later just because.

An exciting day for you! The dash looks so familiar -- my grandmother had a late 50's Chrysler convertible with the transmission push buttons right there, so the seeing takes me back. Smaller than your classic Imperial of course. And the AM radio, ah for the simplicity of that "entertainment system!"

Have fun with the new beauty!

Cheers,

Peter
