I just missed you guys, spent 3 days south of Rolla at a National Forest CG.
If you want an interesting place to camp on the Buffalo, try here. It's close to the visitor center you visited.

HiHo we saw that advertised. It's a very nice area. I think we'll be back someday as it sits between family.

7 Days, 10 States, 3662 Miles, 3 Relative families visited, 1 new (old) Trailer.

Lots of beautiful country seen from state highways.

Home safe, thankful for all our blessings.

Being gone us wonderful. Being home is equally good.

So we didn't meander far in terms of travel today although we did roll all the girls around the block to park in the backyard for a nice fall party. We have little to no landscaping yet so we used them as a backdrop for the party. It was fun watching our friends go in each one and check em out.

Wandered out to our annual 4CU Thanksgiving Rally at Lake Pleasant AZ.

Met some nice new people and visited over food and fire. 4CU is such a comfortable casual inviting group. Even though most of our trips with them are short due to working its always very relaxing.

We've noticed that one of the things we like to do is sit out side in our comfy Costco lean back lawn chairs and just chill. Not that we don't relax at home but that usually involves being lazy and a tv being on.

It's usually warm enough here to always sit out and our winter sun is toasty. So we sit next to the trailer and watch camp wake up, dogs get walked, trips to the shower, stops at the ramada for coffee or a danish and enjoy visitors as they stop to chat.

We love what our Airstream has brought to our lives.

Sounds lovely, Hittenstiehl....I have heard so much praise for the folks in the 4CU.

You sound like a morning person, too...the best time of day, in my opinion.

I love to watch the day break, wherever, sipping my coffee and with a fire going if that's possible.

So we are project people. Always have something in the works or on the to do list. We like diy and I love my craft's. I'm not artistic but love that in other people so crafts work for me.

I've knitted before, briefly, but so long ago I'd practically have to start over. I'm also not incredibly detailed oriented so counting and keeping

track not my strong suite.

So as I read Maggie's thread I've been intrigued by crocheting and would love to learn how to make some hats for fun and maybe for a craft event later this year.

On a recent Walmart trip some fall colored fluffy yarn caught my eye and home it went. So after lots of you tube's and some beginner books I practiced and am getting the hang of it.

Hand cramps and a slow learning curve later I've kind of got a scarf in the makes. It's way to wide, a bit curvy from failure to pick up those end stitches, very heavy, a bit bulky and the colors are maybe not in the right order but I'm very beginner satisfied.

Right before I pulled it all out. Great practice in basics and patience.

I like this craft.

Looks pretty good.

Basic hats couldn't be easier, and you can pick up some booklets on these at Hobby Lobby, etc.

I have some more intricate hat patterns, but make those only occasionally, for gifts, as the are attention-intensive.

It's very satisfying to make things useable by others.

Go for it, I say!

When I learned to knit, I was fortunate to have a teacher who insisted that I learn what each stitch looked like in the finished fabric. I find that skill takes out about 90% of the counting and keeping track stuff. Aran style cable patterns are my favorite.

Never did master crochet, although I did try once to learn. Didn't have a teacher and didn't have time to stick with it.
