Hi! How do you take the measurements for an airstream. This one measures 27 1/2 ft. from the front to the back on the outside , not including the tongue. Also, what name. It could be a 27ft Overlander, 29ft Ambassador, or a 31ft. Excella or Sovereign. It is a 1974. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Kandace
Hi skibender,
Welcome to the forums I have never bent skis...but I have broken a few
From your description/measurements I would suspect a 31' Sovereign. If you can post the VIN number we can use the not so secret decoder and tell you what you have.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
It says interstate, but the Overlander and Sovereign are called that. The vin number is 131D4S1134. It's probably 31 ft if I was to measure it from the front of the tongue. What do you think? I am a snowmobiler, that's where the bent skis come from. Thanks, Kandace

It is an International, the first 1 is an I, the 31 in the VIN makes it a 31, the D makes it a rear bath Double bed, The S means it was built in California, The rest is just the serial number

Thanks so much. Would it would be hard to put a value on it? It is in average condition, I think everything works, battery is dead. No dents, but outside needs conditioning work. It is my friends dad's who passed away. Soon as I get it cleaned up I will put it in classifieds with pictures. The more you spend time around them, they sort of grow on you. Kandace
I stand corrected, it does say international. Did they come with a title? Thanks, Kandace
Title, as in certificate of ownership? Yes, most, if not all states require a title for a new travel trailer.
The original owners were issued one at the time it was first registered.
If you mean title, as in a name, it is probably a Sovereign model, with the International trim package.

Kandace, they are addictive... that's why we're all here! Just a word to the wise, make sure you're friend's dad's trailer has a clear title and can be sold. Selling off cars and trailers from estates can be a real pain if you don't do all of the stuff 'right', or if her Dad didn't make any arrangements for the sale or for disposing of his estate prior to his death. Check with the DMV or whoever does vehicle titles in your state to make sure that you have the right signatures etc. on the title. Some states will make you jump through lots of hoops to make it work.
I bought an Argosy Minuet from a dealership once upon a time and couldn't get it registered because the orginal title wasn't signed by a woman who died many years before. Don't think THAT wasn't fun getting corrected.. even though the surviving husband (and co-owner) HAD signed off...
