I haven't found anything like that yet, but do post a picture of it if you can. I have a lot of old parts that I can't identify, because I expected to toss them out.

Regards,
Rich the Viking

Well the repair guy came with the new heating element for the frig and he decided to try the installation from the outside door which turned out to be possible and 45 minutes later, it was installed. He checked the voltage and said we were getting full power so the frig should be cold in a couple of hours. I just stuck my head in the frig and I can hear little percolating noises so I think we are back in business. If this all works out, I will be SO HAPPY since I did not want to fork out all that money for a new frig!
My luck must be getting better too because a friend of mine who had been admiring an old wall clock that I had said he would be happy to make a trade for it and order a new Magic Chef stove/oven unit for me. Just yesterday I listed a vintage sewing machine that I had on Craigslist and someone drove up from LA and bought it so that will pay for all my repair and installation charges. I am feeling much more like a happy camper again.....

Thanks everybody for all their help,
Carol
