I think some of the Washingtonians have started or have gone N; after all you can plant strawberries on the Olympic Penninsula in mid-February.

Personally, I hate to see "the birds" go because they help the economy here in the Tucson area. We have to wait until April to escape the The South and then we are going to The North.

I'm in Middle Ga and my Canadian goose couple left yesterday! Is that a ray of hope for you??? I was sorry to see them go but a couple of flocks came by flying north and they took off with them.

One goose? My gosh, are you lucky; when we lived in Olympia, the Canadien/Canadian Geese were a problem.

They are pretty but added too many nutirents to the soil.

Those Washington birds ought to take their time heading this way. It was 20 last night and with the wind, the chill factor is unbearable. I'd be flying a holding pattern in the Tucson area if I could. Can't go anywhere right now with my butt frozen to the lake. I'm with you. I want spring. I want warm air. I want to put my new wheels and tires on the Safari.

Just 2 - a mated couple. They stayed on the lakes and when not, they didn't come around us because of my dogs. There must have been 100 or more that came over yesterday. It looked like 3 flocks flying on 3 different heights. The top ones were so high I could barely see them. My couple took off and joined them before they left. It almost looked as if the gang stopped by to pick them up because it was almost a tornado looking stack of them and none landed. When my couple flew up, they all left headed north. Was really noisy for about 15 minutes or so! I was sorry to see them go. I enjoyed watching them. She was never concerned about what was going on around her - he wasa constantly on the alert watching. If she decided to change lakes, he dutifully followed........ why can't humans live that way?? LOL

there must have been a thousand canadian geese overhead this morning, what a beautifull racket they were making. and i'm nowhere near ready for the season to start. guess i'll have to start pulling double shifts in the shop? roger n cindy

We had flocks of robins here on Wed. 2/25/04 and Fri. 2/27/04. That's interesting that we had them here in central FL at the same time they were in KC!

We had our first snow last week, the jonquils are coming up and have buds on them.

Come home, it is warmer. I was up and down between Daytona and Melbourne Thursday, it is warmer in MI than FL. Heading south I kept turning the heater up, north I had to turn it down.

I will be glad when the weather stops being so cold - I want to visit old and new friends in the north, but don't need to burst my pipes whilst doing it. I have friends in Montana, and in North Dakota, so will be up there in the late spring, when the nights keep above freezing most times. Of interest, how cold can it get, before the pipes get problems in a fully heated trailer?

Saw a robin last saturday. That's three weeks earlier than last year. Had a rain storm today with some hail. Snow in forcast for weekend. But we usually get snow on the tulips anyway.

We lived in SE WI for 7 years. It snowed EVERY May. Nobody believed me because I'm a Floridian. But I paid attention because I'm a Floridian.

So this southern groundhog predicts at little more than 2 months of snow. Of course, you'll have lots of beautiful spring days in between.
