Once again, I bid you Happy Festivus. Although it is becoming an obscure and little celebrated Holiday.
You disappoint me once again.

Found it, Lucius.

This thread is now officially 10 years old. Maybe we should create a celebration for that.

Recapping the Poles

I found a sampling of Festivus Poles on this thread. Don't know if this is all the pictures or not but there are a wide variety to choose from.

I have many grievances, but no pole (another grievance I guess).

Festivus for the Rest of Us!

Happy Festivus! It is now December 23, so the cardboard pole covered in aluminum foil is now up.

I've got some problems with you people, and now you're going to hear about it!

The airing of grievances:
-Festivus is Dec. 23, yet you all got too excited and started posting early. You disappoint me.

-Star Wars – great. All the junk that is being sold as “Star Wars themed” – bad. Disney you disappoint me.

-Costco on a Saturday, Sunday, Monday . . . heck! EVERY DAY! Fellow shoppers, why must you all be there with me? You disappoint me.

-Selfies. Politicians who have to be in selfies. Websites dedicated to selfies. Internet, you disappoint me.

-What is with the Canadian dollar? How far can it sink? The economy disappoints me.

-Zoolander is the Prime Minister of Canada. The Canadian public disappoints me.

yada, yada, yada

This year's Feat of Strength: bagging frozen dog turds

It's not too late if you don't have a pole. There may be a "pole lot" right next to the lot for the rest of them.

It’s Festivus for the rest of us!

"I got a lotta problems with you people, and you're going to hear about it!"

Yes, we did start a little early but the Pole Lot down the street from us opened earlier than normal - I guess they were trying to get an early start on sales. The pole lot indicated 10% of their profit would be contributed to The Human Fund and I thought that was a good cause!

While Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd, I figured a reasonable amount of preparation was in order and commonly acceptable. If not, well... there's a grievance. And I'll take my grievance down to the pole lot guy and he'll really have he!! to pay!

It occurs to me that Festivus cannot simply be over at the end of the day on the 23rd until feats of strength have been demonstrated. Who's wrestling who? We need pictures - proof of wrestling.

Excuses, excuses!

Next year, how about some Turkish oil wrestling? No one wrestles quite like the Turks! Maybe wrestle the pole lot guy.

Uh - you do realize that guy has his hand in the back of the other dude's pants?

I think I'll pass on Turkish wrestling.

And there's another grievance ...

Oh yeah! That's why it is the ultimate feat of strength. They pour olive oil all over themselves, including their leather pants and DOWN the pants. You don't want your opponent to get a good grip.

My feat of strength, a bit late, was getting out of bed today.

I saw an article in the NY Times about how people in Brazil always get up late on Xmas. I didn't read the article since I didn't want to be burdened by "facts". I guess I'm a brasileiro. Order e progresso for all.

My oldest sister often starts a conversation with “I’m so disappointed”... she fits right in with the Festivus theme!

I'm disappointed that you are disappointed. Shouldn't your complaints be bigger than "disappointed". How about "outraged", "enraged", "infuriated", "incensed"? Perhaps even "disgusted". Festivus just isn't the same, though I actually have no idea what it was like since I am the only person in the world who has never seen Seinfeld. However, I think the idea of it is quite important since there are so many things to be outraged and disgusted about—more than ever lately—and requiring a really big. amazing, pole. Fortunately, my feat of strength gets smaller every year the older I get.

Uggh, I can't believe I ate the whole thing.
I sit here in the back of the glow of my catylitic fireplace planning the journey of 2019.

The bourbon and ice seems very smooth tonight!

Festivus is coming soon and I can't find my Festivus pole. Ordered a new one on Amazon Prime. Should be here on Friday.

I remain disappointed in all of you.
