Paula, don't feel bad. I'd never heard of it either, but I never watched Seinfield. Check the Wikipedia link in the first post.

Besides never seeing Seinfield, I have never used an ATM and don't have an iPod. Does this mean I'm a caveman and Geico is my enemy?

Paula,

The connection should be fairly apparent:

Festivus pole = finest high strength aluminum
My Airstream = finest high strength aluminum

Frank: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

Kramer:
What happened to the doll?

Frank: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born... A Festivus for the rest of us!

Paula
Paula also watch Silvergate's youtube post #25. That show was a favorite of mine, and speaking of caves, rates right up there with Dinosaurs Refrigerator Day.

The happiest holiday in Pangaea is approaching and Earl, carried away by the commercial side of the occasion, overspends on presents for the family. When the traditional WESAYSO bonus fails to come through for Earl, the family is placed in financial jeopardy. Any hope for a joyous holiday is dashed when their refrigerator is repossessed. With no food, no refrigerator and no money, the family is forced to fall back on the spiritual side of the holiday.

somebody say oockky? eh?
I have NO grievance, every day a holiday, every meal a feast.
When I was a boy I used to go to the Gardens to see the Bruins whack the maple griefs. Then when I lived in Colorado, Crazy George and I had a scuffle in the stands. I finally bit him in the calf and was ejected. But I was a home town hero instantly back at the Snake River Saloon. youth was exciting.
Now every so often I catch the Stockton Thunder only a 20 minute drive to their ice. Young studs gettin it on.
I wonder if Elaine still thinks I'm spongeworthy?
Zamboni the ice, drop the puck and no icing!
Festivus forever,

Oh one other thing- what is going on in the motor city this year, the wings drinking the same water as the football team?

Maple Griefs - that's a new one for me. I'm in Ottawa, where the Sens have a rivalry going with Toronto. Trouble is, Ottawa always kicks their butts, so it's not a tremendously exciting rivalry...

The name I hear most often is "Leafs Suck". But Maple Griefs is good too!

(sorry for any offense to any Leafs fans - but I'm bound by my city's ethics code not to like the Leafs!)

Aw - that's allright. It's bound to happen to a Vancouverite - never seeing snow and all...

OK... Hardly ever seeing snow!

Having fun with all the digging? Over here it's all nice and fluffy snow. Until tomorrow, when they're forecasting lovely heart attack snow (heavy, wet stuff).

folding paper in half...

Take a sheet of paper of the ordinary variety - letter size for the Americans, A4 for the rest of the world - and fold it into half. Fold it a second time, and a third time. It's about as thick as your finger nail. Continue folding if you can. At 7 folds it is as thick as a notebook. If you would have been able to fold it 10 times, it would be as thick as the width of your hand. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to do so more than about 12 times. Try it for yourself. At seventeen folds it would be taller than your average house. Three more folds and that sheet of paper is a quarter way up the Sears tower. Ten more folds and it has crossed the outer limits of the atmosphere. Another twenty and it has reached the sun from the earth. At sixty folds it has the diameter of the solar system. At 100 folds it has the radius of the universe. "Preposterous!", you exclaim. That is what I thought till I started calculating the thickness myself.

Well, it's almost time for another Festivus. Start wiritng down all your grievances, real and imagined, in preparation for the annual airing thereof.

I have devised a new feat of strength for the culmination of this years Festivus. It will be revealed ONLY AFTER the Airing Of The Greviances.

You all disappoint me endlessing.
