Happy Camper Wine

Hey all we just bought some of this wine yesterday. Not an Airstream on the bottle, but sure is a great concept. Here is a link

hi jeep...

the really nice folks who bottle and market this vino (part of a VERY large northwest winery)

DO own a 'stream!

and they attended a big time rally last year....

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...ast-32154.html

i was pleased and surprised to find a nice bottle on my trailer step one morning, just after they headed 4 home...

janet posted this pic 2 years back in the photo contest (shoulda been the winner, along with my 'stick in the water' pic) ....

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f415...tml#post230371

so it seems ok 2 toss it up again....

and looking at her pic again now, it's VERY patriotic...

with red, white and blue.... and silver!

cheers

Hi,

We got a bottle of happy camper wine for Christmas, and if I had more storage space, I would have kept the empty bottle. Wine was pretty good too.

You can buy it on line at Happy Campers Wines They cannot ship to all states, however. They say they are adding states all the time...they used to not be able to ship to AZ, but now it looks like they can... Hmmm. We have a couple of bottles given to us by friend from out of state (thanks, Dave!)...just waiting for our next trip! I think we might save one for the New Year's trip we are planning to CA.

Get a set of 3 for your friends. Happy Campers makes good wine and the price is right! I especially like the Merlot.

I bought my first bottle of Happy Camper wine for the label. I was waiting to check in at Casini Ranch (NorCal Rally 4/08) and found it in the back of the small store. It was only $7. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not a bad wine under the screw-on cap. I see that Lynn, not a wine connoisseur, has saved the bottle. I bought the red so I guess I will have to buy the 'set'.

I see more and more wines in the Pacific NW with screw caps including some premium wines. The caps are not prone to the inconsistencies or cork, supply issue, or in the case of made made cork, cost. The days of judging a wine by it's cork are slowly coming to an end.

A/S Beverages

Looks like a great product line - must give them a sample soon. I still marvel at A/S-inspired beverage goodies. Probably food items as well. Wow, yet another related topic to enjoy researching.

Along those lines, we tried Silver Joe's Coffee Company, Taste The Adventure more for the novelty at first, but enjoy it regularly now based on taste and quality. Well, and I'm a sucker for cool logos on commercial packaging

Smile We'll have to try it!!

Wow I hadn't heard of this wine before, we'll have to try it!! I will surely miss the hunks of cork floating in the wine (specially when I mangle that cork up good) when you get to be my age that extra fiber sure comes in handy!

That looks great. I like to get some wine bottle gifts for my friends, so that wine might be very nice surprise for some of them. Thank you very much for sharing.

I still haven't opened my Merlot. I liked the Cab. I guess I'll open the Merlot at the upcoming Jackson Rancheria Rally in a few weeks. I won't share with doorgunner........oh, maybe I should. I like his Zin.

I won a bottle of Happy Camper Cabernet Savigon in a drawing at the Birthday Bash! My thanks to the donater! It was very good!

I loved the label enough to remove and save that too. I have since been trying to find a source for it locally, so far without luck. I'm headed off campoing tomorrow and today's mission is to find it!! I will also try the online link above in hopes it is sold in my(NY) or my kids state (MD).

booze distribution is tricky biz with rules and rituals and wheel greasin' needed.

((online sales/shipping is an entirely different issue controlled by state/fed laws))

wholesale/retail shipping is basically all about finding a transport/distributor GOING to a given state...

who is WILLING to use truck space/fuel/driver time for the products.

then finding a merchant who will GIVE the product shelf space...

when the merchant PROBABLY hasn't even heard of the product.

the HC wine folks have much larger/well known brands in their company...

so consider the HC wine like as special, a boutique bottle is you will...

ASK your local booze store about it,
see if they can get it,
tell them its FANTASTIC wine!
_________

remember when coors was only available in 6-7 states?

that was some MIGHTY fine coors beer in those daze...

and they used REAL rockymtnspringwater...

i had friends in "no coors" states

who would make beer runs 100s of miles to get the good stuff...

then drink 1/2 of it in the car on the way home...

cheers

Everybody likes the name and the label. I haven't tried it but the couple of comments I've heard about it made me think I should just enjoy the label.

clearly.

and the INFO u are getting is probably from folks who know nothing about the winery producing HC.

here's the thing...

like ANY wine there is history, tradition, REGION, vint'rs BS and so on...

then there is the taste.

HC is and has been reviewed and typically given 81-84 point scores.

at the PRICE POINT it's a very drinkable wine.

screw tops and bags are rapidly replacing syn corks which are replacing natural cork...

like most modern DOMESTIC wines this stuff isn't for cellaring,

it's to drink now...
________

yes enjoy the label if you like but folks from NY are often clueless about things from the great PNW...

or ANYTHING west of phili' for that matter.

(howz that for a generalization...)

also keep in mind the HC wine folks OWN AND USE an airstream...

they are 1 of us and nice folks.

cheers
