Happy 4th!
Happy 4th to you all. Hope you are all having fun and enjoying this long weekend. Unfortunately we have a big convention in town and I'm working, manning the communications service desk. 3 1/2 hours to go and then I head for home! Back again tomorrow for the afternoon shift. At least its cool inside. I'm doing a lot of surfing to kill time.
Glad the Classic is safe in its storage lot. Picked up a giant rocket with large plastic wings that had been shot off. Buried about 2 inches into the yard, nose down into the earth. It probably would have left a nice dent if the trailer had been home.
Drive safe!
Regards,
Jack

Greetings from British Columbia ...
Petunia and I are celebrating Canada Day (July 1st) and the 4th of July in Hope, British Columbia. Feels sorta weird to be in another country for their holiday ... and not be in the U.S. for ours.
Made me think ... the last time I was out of the country for the 4th was waaaaaay back in '81 while motorcycling through the Italian Alps. The owner of the resort we were lodged at pulled out his American flag for the occassion ... made us all feel rather good.
Happy 4th to everyone ... no matter where you are.

Whoa! Hadn't thought about the rockets falling back to earth! What goes up must come down.
Thanks for the greeting. If you hear of the west end of the state blowing up, it's probably just us.

Hi, Porky! I remember celebrating Canada Day at Fort William at Thunder Bay, Ontario, and then, three days later, enjoying a great Fourth of July at Grand Marais, MN--several years ago. Still makes one of our great family retells Happy 4th to all! ~G

Happy Fourth!
Whew, watch out for the rockets!!
I liked listening to a Prarie Home Companion for the fourth, Garrison K mentioned that we (Americans) were irritating the British for our holiday, by using bad grammar, making fun of cricket, etc. It was a cute send up.

Eljay,
You would not believe how many roofs I have repaired where we have dug slugs out of the holes...the last one had about 14 holes in the roof, we found .45 and .357 slugs buried in the roof system. Needless to say the factory was on the the ahhh...."roughside" of town.
The laws of physics apply...what goes up....must come down.
Happy Fourth to everybody...I am celebrating by re-installing a leakey Vista View and cutting out another piece of bad floor

Been spending time in the A/S here in the driveway, because the house air conditioner went out. Spent a day at a friends house on the Suawanee river on Saturday.
Went cruising through Ginnie Springs Campground on Saturday, it was packed to the max! Mostly tent campers. Didn't realize that many people used tents!
Got a party to go to today in the neighborhood. Overall a busy and pleasant 4th. Happy 4th to all!!!

Happy 4th to all from MIMI & POP at the base of the Rockies in Raton, N.M.
The hot air ballons are up and making for a colorful sunrise in the cool temps. We're headed to an even cooler Leadville, Colorado later this morning.
Stay safe out there.

I haven't been in the States for a July 4th in fifteen years. I really hoped this one would work out, but i suppose it gives me something to look forward to in 2006?

Thanks for the fireworks, Driftwood. We start the 4th with a million or so of our closest friends at the lakefront fireworks display. Last night they were spectacular. Milwaukee had the forsight to save the lakefront as a park and it is a wonderful setting for the fireworks.
Today we leave for ten days at a close by state park. Once again we will take advantage of the resources we have close to us. Wisconsin has beautiful state parks so we do not have the need to travel far.
What a wonderful country we live in.

Well.... we make "sun Tea". Does that count? Ya know.... we put cold water in an old plastic grape soda bottle (2 litre) then drop in a handful of tea bags - strings, labels and all, then place it on the counter to fester for a few hours. When it's done, we pour it over ice and call it tea.
mmmm sun tea..... sometimes we add whiskey, rum, vodka, triple sec and a splash of Coke, sugar, lemon and mint (all in equal parts) and call it Long Island Iced Tea.
Are you grossed out yet?

Proud of many things
I'm proud to be an American just to start with, but this weekend was just great any way I could cut it.
Number 1 son made the most appropriate decoration an Airstream ever had, and my wife towed my Overlander for the very first time on the way home, and did an outstanding job. And, yes, it's my Overlander, not ours.
I hope everyone else had a great Fourth!

Happy 4th everyone!
Spent a lot of the day hanging out--in garb--at Mt. Vernon, home of G. Washington. I took pictures and managed to survive my first bayonet charge!
Also one thing to wish--
Happy Birthday, Wally!
We launched off a couple of roman candles in his honor!
TTYL,
Mary
