I just signed up for the Rexburg Idaho build September 24 to October 8. I'm looking forward to it.

This will be my first time on a Habitat build. I hope some other Airstreamers are there!

Hey, that's great news. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

It's always fun when we see another Airstream on a Habitat project but they seem to be few compared to all other brands combined. We Airstreamers are a relatively small number in the RV population so we're a similarly small number in the RV CAV population too.

Regardless, you're likely to have fun and the homeowner will appreciate all the work you do toward building their decent, affordable home.

Please let us know about your experience and post some pictures if possible.

I have signed up on the Thibodeaux LA Jan thru March last year and Jan till April 22 this year. I really like the area and meeting new crews plus we have groups of students coming in from different colleges. The Cypress Lake Campground is a nice lakeside camp ground where you see spectacular sunrises over the water. We are rehabbing houses here and I find its more suitable for me at 77 than the heavier work on new builds. I have not seen one ASmer here either last year or this year. C'mon pass a good time in Louisian!

Keep the pictures coming...

We helped on a Collegiate Challenge project in Albany, GA recently. Five Care-A-Vanners supervised twenty-nine students. We worked on two different rehab projects as well as helping clean up the yard for a disabled veteran. Here are a couple group photos.

Danielle and I were in Omaha, NE recently. We called the affiliate in advance and worked with them for three days. Day one we were on our own working on a hand rail for a deck. Day two and three we worked with local volunteers to begin building a small garage and the front porch.

Here's a photo from day one.

I was hoping this thread would take on a life of its own... with Airstreamers from all around the country (and the world) posting pictures of their travels and job sites and new friends they'd made and places they'd seen.

Oh well, maybe it's a blog of sorts so I'll blog away.

We were in Ontario recently and worked with the Habitat affiliate in Sarnia/Lambton County. Woo Hoo, our first international project! All the good pictures must be on Danielle's phone - the only photo I have is of the stinking (pun intended) on-site portable toilet. But hey, check out the built-in hand washing station complete with soap, water and paper towels. Even the toilet was high-end with a flush mechanism similar to RV toilets.

Thumbs up Great potty pic!

Hey Lucius! I actually love that pic of the fancy potty. As you and I both know, that is a very important part of any Habitat build. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to post pictures to help keep this thread going.

I did a build in Loveland, CO this past July while the rest of you were at the International Rally in MI! Hope you guys had a great time. The build was small, only 5 of us, and no other AS but we had fun. Loveland Habitat is a great affiliate and close to Rocky Mountain National Park. If you have not been there, I highly recommend it.

Enjoy your time in Canada, it's on my bucket list. Safe travels my friend

The Habitat for Humanity RV Care-A-Vanner monthly newsletter arrived in our email box today and we noticed this video link. Pretty cool that the video was made by an Airstreaming family.

L & D, You were in my back yard in Sarnia, only 2 hours away. Wish I'd have known. Laura and I would have found a way to come and visit, maybe even help.

Care-A-Vanners at the 2018 RV SuperShow in Tampa

Woo-Hoo! Habitat for Humanity RV Care-A-Vanners is going to have an information booth and present daily seminars at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa. The dates are January 17 - 21, 2018.

http://www.frvta.org/show/florida-rv-supershow/

If you've never been to this show you're missing something. It is way BIG! It's certainly the largest RV show we've attended. Friends of ours have been to the Hershey RV show and the Tampa show and indicated the Tampa show is clearly larger (more acres of RV's). Airstream always has a big presence and it's fun to see all the new products from them as well as the many other RV's, products and services from other manufacturers.

Back to Habitat...

Look for us in Building A adjacent to the Camping World "store." Seminars will be offered daily at noon. Check the SuperShow schedule for more details.

Hey guys! We have been retired now for about 2 years. Would love to get out and do some builds. We have been dealing with a lot of health and extended family issues but are hoping to be able to get out more soon.

We just signed up for a two-week build in Hobbs, NM, Feb 11-25! This will be our first, but I'm sure not our last. We are "building it in" to our 6 week trip we had planned to the southwest. After watching the Habitat RV Care-A-Vanners video, how could we NOT do this? It just looks like too much fun. https://youtu.be/uIVDZgxhkT4

Hi mcair... we look forward to seeing you again and adding RV CAV to the mix. We will be in Omaha, NE for a few days in late April or early May and helping with Habitat while we're there. Let us know if you're interested in joining us in Omaha.

The RV CAV video is contagious! I've seen it dozens of times and I never tire of hearing the stories of RVers on the road helping others buy a decent, affordable house.

The homeowners are the greatest. We recently returned from a trip to Lafayette, LA and had a great time with other RVers as well as the local volunteers. We met a few of the new/potential homeowners and they were excited to be partnering with Habitat.
