GPS upgrade help

We've used a Lowrance IWay500c for 10yrs and it's tired. We do some off road camping and need a unit that can navigate away from roads in addition to what they all seem able to do. The dilemma is the amassed data that is important to keep.
We'd be appreciative of any recommendations for a replacement (that would allow the transfer of our data).
Thanks for any offered suggestions.

My friend had a Lowrance on his boat, it was very nice. I have used Gamin and Magellan GPS both mounted and had held. Out of all of them I prefer Garmin. I am not sure if there is a program to save GPS data from one manufacture to an others product. I am sure Lowrance has a program to save your maps, way-points, etc. As does Garmin and Magellan. Save it all to your computer. Then you may find it easier to start fresh and manually load the info into your new device. Or you can just get another Lowrance product. Contact Lowrance customer support before you purchase to see which device is compatible to transfer your data. .02
