Google Chrome
I just downloaded and installed the Google Chrome browser.
After all of 30 minutes using it, it seems to be "snappier" than IE or Firefox.

I assume you are using an Apple computer as the press release says it will only work with Apple software.
If this is not correct please advise.

Please tell me more.
Is this a standalone browser or are you using it under IE or Fire Fox?
Any and all information would be great.

Looks like it retains one of the major shortcomings of Google. The mining of information from your computer. It doesn't have a way to block cookies.

It was just released this afternoon.
Is anything Google does NOT a beta version?

It's only in windoze so I had to reboot from ubuntu to try it, but it looks great. Soon we take over the world. I've been waiting for my chance to buy my t-mobile G-phone the 17th of the month. Android and 3g looks good. I guess I am a google fanboy.

Flashback..
Is the G-phone really available on the 17th? I know they were rushing it to market, just curious. I wont be camping out for one, but would definately be interested. Curently with t-mobile, not interested in going with AT/T.

Say what? You couldn't have made that post if you didn't "allow cookies from trusted sites." This is a fact of life. A retail shopping basket and any forums post is held in a cookie via your browser until you click 'submit.' It's surprising that we don't have more tech queries about people unable to post -- which they couldn't do if they hadn't set their browser to accept 'em. Macs. PCs. All the same. Was it Marie Antoinette who said, "Let them eat cookies...?" Give me oatmeal pecan chocolate chip with craisins.

Yes there are sites that I have accepted cookies from. Maybe 10% of those I use. In days of old one would go in periodically and dump cookies because they were slowing down the computer. Now with the advances of technology one can select whether to accept a cookie for the duration of a session or to deny it all together. Fire Fox offers this feature. It appears Chrome does not. I consider this a major shortfall.
This is a good review of Chrome

Howie, I thought of the settings you brought up after I responded. I will agree that Google is a 'big brother' intrusive site when it comes to mining people who use any of their offerings.

Chrome is not avail for OSX yet, only Winblows.
I would have significant concerns using a web browser made by a search engine. How much data will it allow to in or out? This is in direct response to IE 8 where a user can block info that helps Google target ads. I would be more content using a 3rd party like Opera, Safari, Firefox, etc.

Well..... it's available to pre order on the 17th but there are a couple ifs....
You have to be an existing t-mobile customer to pre-order AND the new G3 network has to be available in your zipcode.
