Going to Omaha, NE

We are going to Omaha, NE from Oklahoma City in a couple of weeks. We will stay in Omaha for 4 days. Is there anything of interest between OKC and Omaha? Is there a nice rv park in Omaha? Thanks

Well, I hear that the Henry Doorly Zoo is quite good. Friends of ours that went there talked it up. Put on your sneakers though, they said it's over a hundred acres!

Went there once on business, and IIRC there is the U.S. Strategic Command (sccuessor to SAC) there, but I don't know if they give tours.

I can vouch for the Zoo. I have a great photo of the back door to the penguin house. It was just about 5:00pm, nearly closing time, and there is a group of penguins neatly lined up watching the door. Quittin' time.

I don't know the RV park situation in Omaha, but there is a great state park at Ashland, about twenty miles south. It is called Mahoney State Park. It is located next door to a fantastic SAC air museum that is a must see if you have any interest at all in the history of aircraft.

Bartlesville, OK and Nebraska City

>>>>>> Is there anything of interest between OKC and Omaha? <<<<<<<<

I'd recommend starting in and around Bartlesville, OK if you have not yet explored the area. Bartlesville is north of Tulsa on US 60 and was the headquarters for the Phillips 66 oil company. Do not miss touring Frank Lloyd Wright's only finished skyscraper, the Price Tower, http://pricetower.org. Other sites include the Frank Phillips Home, http://frankphillipshome.org, and Woolaroc, http://woolaroc.org. We've stayed at Osage Hills State Park.

From Bartlesville, stay on US 75, a blue highway, and as you are nearing Omaha, you'll find interesting sites around Nebraska City, http://www.nebraskacity.com.
