Good Luck!

I hope you have better luck than a lot of my co-workers did in the U.P. Escanaba was the only area with any activity. At least you get to enjoy your 'Stream a little more this season, like you said.

(A little note, I'm not here to preach or offend anyone, but here in Michigan, there were @65,000 car/deer accidents last year alone, that's not a typo. Sometimes, some things are necessary (hunting to reduce the numbers). Imagine having Bambi bound out in front of you and your rig while traveling 55-60 m.p.h. on the freeway, not a proposition anyone would want to confront. That's all.)
Have a great day all.

Chronic wasting disease

While I was in WI, I was surprised how many deers in the mid-west are being affected by chronic wasting disease.
Hopefully they'll get it under control.

Good Luck on your hunt!!!

Nice pumpkin suit! (Just kidding, I feel safe being able to be spotted on the ground from a 747 at cruising altitude too!) No napping, 'cause you can't grill it 'til ya...

How's the rut? Have the temps dropped over there? Bag a biggen.

Good Luck John!

Can't wait till gun season starts here. The deer played hell with our pepper crop this year. Time to thin the deer herd in these parts!

One of my husband's bandmates wrote a song with the extended title line of "If yer not supposed to eat 'em, how come they're made of meat?". It's one of thier most requested songs...

sorry to report nothing in the freezer yet...

but there is always next weekend! boy what a good time, it's always nice to get out in the woods even if all you see is squirrels, grouse, turkeys, and one donkey! we corraled him (gus) and returned him to the farm he escaped from.

When I was young a farmer a few miles from us painted "cow" in red on each of his cows (black and white holsteins!!) he had so many shot. Gus is lucky you found him, he lives to escape again.

Johnhd,
I left out last Fri., drove 116 miles and parked the trailer. I went to the woods, put my treestand around a tree and went back to camp. I woke up Sat. morning to 24 degrees and a nice frost. I hunted low on the ridge because I had heard that the buck were staying in the hollows during the previous week of muzzleloader hunting. The only thing I saw was 6 does 1/4 down from the top of the ridge and they crossed 50 yards above me. I kept looking for the buck and even heard him raking his antlers on trees at the edge of the field on the top of the ridge. Rats, foiled again. I saw nothing but squirrels and chipmunks the rest of the weekend. Isn't wildlife wonderful? At least I have a doe in the freezer from the bow season. I fly to TX. tomorrow afternoon and will hunt over the weekend with friends. Wish me luck.

i hope you have a good time on your next hunt. good luck!

just got off the phone with one of my hunting buddies, he shot 5 this year. one buck, 4 does.

with the current CWD thing going on i'll be able to hunt until the end of january in the intensive harvest zone. in the eradication zone i can hunt until the end of march, plenty of time left...

i was at my fathers place today cutting pine boughs for the wife, didn't see any thing, but i'll grab the '06 and look around this weekend. there is a pond there that the deer drink at, i think i'll set up there at dawn.

we sure could use some snow, that would make sighting better.

Boy, I wish we were allowed to use rifles in Ohio. Ohio only allows shotgun with slugs. Range is very limited, so you have to get real close. Slugs are heavy and they drop fast.
