I hear ya. I was hoping CC would have it tonight. Makes me very uneasy going back to Boston. I was in a little bar in Somerville called Toad on the night the sox won the series that year. What a magical moment.

Sox are near and dear to the heart. My grandfather died the night of Game 6 of the 1975 series -- remember the Fisk "hope and prayer" push to keep the ball in play?

He never saw them win.

Dad was alive for the win in 2004. He just got a diagnosis of advanced leukemia today. Another win for him would be really sweet!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your dad and the Sox.
The Fisk homer? Electric! What a player. doorgunner just mentioned Yaz. Do you know who your dad's favorite Sox player is/was?

I didn't realize it, but the Rockies have a smaller payroll then the indians.
Sox $143 million
Indians $61 million
Rockies $54 million

Only Sox fans here.

My husband Leon's great uncle played for the Red Sox for a while in the 1940s (50s?). He passed on a few years ago. His name was Tony Lupien. He co-wrote a book about baseball too, named "the Imperfect Diamond". I'm reading it now.

I thought that was so cool so I googled him, read his obit (very impressive), and found this! It's on ebay! 1979 Diamond Greats BB #230 Tony Lupien Red Sox - (eBay item 260076281834 end time Nov-10-07 23:10:16 PST)
