No sticks, no stones, but oh those words....

Having not mastered the "quote" feature yet, I noted that Roger (85h325) described Silvertwinkie and JohnHD as 'inveterate....but still good friends'.

It appears that this thread has moved away from vitriol and rancor towards civility and many other words that I don't know. My best grade ever received from Mrs. McGranahan in ninth grade English was a C-, so I found it necessary to look up the adjective, inveterate. Turns out it is the diminutive of "inverse vertebrate" which literally defined is, 'a subphylum with segmented spinal column, distinct, well differentiated head, reversed in nature and order'.

That's good enough for me. Sure, I made that up, and yes, we all know that lying is unacceptable, but sometimes you just have to make up the truth. Who needs Webster and the Oxford English dictionary ?

I've only met one of the above face-to-face (the Silvertwinkie), but I would trust JohnHD, Silvertwinkie, 85H325, the cart-wheeling Janet, stephroberts, EdieG, maxandgeorgia, jcanavera, and several others to do any of the following;
a) back my trailer into a tight space
b) walk my dogs, ReWind and WrongWay while we're away
c) take our card and pin number to the atm to get some walking around cash

The forum is a metaphorical breath of fresh air in a world that is otherwise enveloped in an aura of rotten farts. At least here it isn't necessary to always...always... hold your nose.

Call me a naive optimist, but you
can't fool the dogs.

Roger,
It's 1984 remember the movie about this! These things have been coming slowly. Lat time I was at the bank afriend bought an item from me. I wanted to cash the check and the bank person said they had to deposit it and them give me the cash. Even to get a MO from the bank involves a deposit. Big Brother is watching. Also Check 21 laws are in effect.

Christ Almighty, I cannot believe this thread!!

Excuse me for thinking but the the mods need to be spanked. Leave for a year or so and come back to find crap like this. This country is plenty divided the way it is, even with the shrubs "mandate" so why not leave just a little bit of our sanity intact, Airstream Forums that is.

The joys of an adult conversation in the off topic section....and I agree, we are a passionate bunch!

As far as I'm concerned, the mods did a great job of hands off where appropriate as did the participants, keeping it civil.

What's the matter, Chas, got a problem with free speech? I think we're all grown up here, and can handle a little debate.

Nothing here is really dead....I mean, I've seen some fished from the disposal, recycled years from the last post for more than it's worth.
