This is all crazy talk, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. That's what makes this country great right?
Today's army is 100% volunteer. Today's administration is there because the taxpayers voted them in, so what? Want to make a difference? Enlist our encourage someone else to. Lets all just talk Airstream, forget the politics.

Hey Bob, it's a selfless thing I do here...I mean, I took good views and posts and added them to a different thread than the ones I started.
Boy, what I do for this fourm....I'm feeling the love!
I'd shoot you more karma Bob just for the grin, but it tells me I gotta spread it around...guess I gave you too much Karma this month or somethin'.

Nooooo....it wasnt below the belt. This thread is actually engaging and interesting. You know...if there are people here talking about this stuff and having a discussion it isnt reasonable for one person to walk into the room
and tell everyone to knock it off and lets all trade meatloaf recipes instead.

Actually I was referring to Fayetville, NC. Been to your neck of the woods though, thought you wanted to talk politics instead of throwing this worthless banter back and forth?

bumping a thread means to post to it for no other reason than to get it to the top of the current posts on the home page.
it is frowned upon because it wastes server space and can move more pressing issues off the front page.

Forum policies discusss bumping in some detail.....

And yes, there has been a fair amount of it going on lately.

And that is what makes our country such a good one. But to say "That's just the way it is" and "we are who we are" is, IMHO, accepting mediocrity. We can be better than that. We can CHOOSE better than that. America has not become the leading economic power that it has by sitting on its laurels. We are the land of opportunity and choice, and hopefully our choices are wise ones, even if we have to make mistakes to finally get there.

So are we back to the "America, love it or leave it mentality" of the 60's? In 1936, President Franklin D. Roosevelt said: "Millions of men and women . . . adopted this homeland because in this land they found a home in which the things they most desired could be theirs—freedom of opportunity, freedom of thought, freedom to worship God. Here they found life because here there was freedom to live." To suggest that we leave this country just because we differ in thought, IMHO, is about as un-American as one can be.

First, I don't agree. I personally am not accepting any mediocrity and don't believe more than half the country is either based on GW being elected not once, but twice and the second time getting the popular vote and the college. I am simply saying that I agree with the current events. I won't elaborate more on my feelings on the administration that was before GW as it would only start an even bigger discussion.
Second, I'm not one of the people that said "I'm moving to Canada if Bush gets re-elected". Nor did I say I'm moving abroad if Clinton gets into office. My comments were geared toward the bulk of Kerry supporters who talked a mean game about leaving, but most likely never followed through with it. Moreover, my choice of countries (to migrate to) were done for a reason. You are dead on when you say we differ in thought, but in the end I fully support your comment that the ability to disagree publically is what makes this place such a great place.
