Ok, I'll try this again. I thought I replyed to you yesterday so if it's a duplicate sorry in advance. Thanks for the post Pat and I owe you a steak dinner! I live in KC so I think I can find a good steak for ya! KC Strip sound good? I am so greatful to you and your wife inspecting my new toy. She is perfect and was very well cared for. And after my long trip I feel pretty confident towing her in almost any weather condition! It was a great trip and now I'm just waiting for spring so we can start camping! Thanks again!

Brad - we'll have to make a point of collecting on that. It would be nice to meet you and your better half.

By the way, the trip made me very hungry for a Bambi. Perhaps I'll stumble across a little sister for my 31, one of these days.

Pat

Thanks Pat! Would like to meet you and your wife as well. I was a little nervous when you said a 19 ft would be a nice addition! the Bambi is a great size and this one is in great shape. A few things I need to change/fix but not much.

I'm glad I was willing to travel so far for the right one. Anyone looking should be open for a road trip to get what they want. I'd be looking a long time if I set a mileage limit. Also it gave me a crash course in towing through lots of differnt conditions. Now let's get spring here so we can go camping!

Jez, We traveled 3,080 miles for our first AS. What a great time ! Giddy newbies on the loose! Our second AS just fell in our lap this week at home! Yes you read that correctly. Aluminitis has struck again.

Glad you're home safe! What a beautiful trailer. You will definitely enjoy it!

We only had to drive about 80 miles to find our Argosy. We showed up early in the day as the seller had told us he had several people coming to look at it. We didn't want to let it slip away! We were the first to arrive, and were handing him the cash when the next people drove up.

Towing it home was interesting; we had never towed a trailer before so it was also a white knuckle trip! All along twisty two lane roads over the coast range mountains. Whee!

The couple bought our 79 Argosy traveled over 5,700 km (3,540 mi) one-way from Vancouver Island to Kannapolis, NC. We were just amazed no buyer closer showed up for our beautiful Snow White, but are glad Kate wanted this so much.

She drove down, stayed several days getting acquainted and prepping the trailer for towing behind her GMC back up to Canada.

This might be the longest North American one-way trailer transit?

Best Regards,
Jim

Wow, that's like 1,200 miles per day.
Half of them (return trip) while towing.
Must have had more than one driver, even so that's a marathon.

My husband searched this site FOREVER to locate our trailer. We finally found what we wanted and drove 1,142 miles from northcentral Iowa to Americus, Georgia. Each mile the anticipation increased as we hoped the trailer was all the it was advertised to be. And it was!! Before returning home, we made our first trip to Florida where we visited with some Airstream friends. Then meander back through the Carolinas and stopped at Jackson Center for some minor updates. What a great time we had!
