We bought our AS local after seeing it set unused for two years DW went to their door and asked if they would sell. Of course they said they had to much in it to sell and that should been a clue anyway we paid to much but hey life is short.

On our SOB MH we flew from Tulsa to Phoenix and bought site unseen (except pictures) took five days to drive back no problems reallyenjoyed the trip and very little maintenance since, that was in 2004.

Colonial is worth the drive! I'm glad I'm only three hours away!

Houston Texas to Orlando

Found her on Craig's list and drove overnight 1000 miles to pick her up and then camped at Disney's Campground for 5 days and then pulled her back. Total 2,000 miles

Drove from South Florida to the mountains of Western North Carolina to pick up our Overlander. A comparatively short round trip, it was only 1800 miles.

I drove 900 miles each way to walk away from an Airstream. It was not a fun weekend.

Well, I guess I'm a short distancer in this crowd....I only went 1150 miles round trip to get my 34 footer. But, I've been a HAPPY CAMPER ever since I got it. I wouldn't want one a single inch shorter....I love the long long trailer!

Wow, I am feeling much better now! I thought 430 miles one way was really far to pick up ours. You guys have made me feel downright normal.

Guess I'm about "normal" in this group....865 miles one way to Tucson. Turned out to be a bad deal, but I had "the FEVER".

Sunday, made it to just west of St. Louis, Missouri. Monday got back to about North Platte, Nebraska (half way across Nebraska). Tuesday I was home again in Utah. I slept in the back of my 2006 Explorer in Rest Areas or on side dirt roads, what ever I could find. Had a cooler of food (cold-cuts and bread for sandwiches, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, juice drinks, etc.) ate at rest stops.

All I stopped for was a morning cup of coffee and gas.

I looked for about a year and just wasn’t finding any mid 60's Globe Trotters or Safaris closer to home so I just factored the cost of gas into the final purchace price.
It was a fun road trip, hadn't driven that route before.

That is hardcore, my friend. I hate stopping as much as the next guy, but it's obvious you did that trip solo!

I traveled a little over 5,600 miles from Tucson to upstate New York in February 2006 to pick up my 1999 Bambi. Stopped to visit family in NJ, NC, and GA on way home.
