Gas has been holding steady in a range from $2.85 - $2.99 per gallon in South Miami Beach. We hit the road tommorrow, so it should vary from state to state. If there's anything radically different, I'll post it.

We have a Super Wal-Mart in our town and they seem to supress to local price. Today diesel was 2.67 at Wal-Mart and 20 miles away it 2.89.

Sams/Walmart is a minor factor here in St. Louis. As a matter of fact the manager of my nearby Sam's club says he prices his gas to match Costco. Interesting statement since there are only 2 Costco's in STL and lots of Sam's Clubs.

QT seems to be the controlling factor in the market here. I've watched other national brands attempt to raise prices only to retreat after 2 days when QT doesn't budge. But when QT moves up everyone else follows. Under normal conditions they make the big jump, then spend the next week dropping the price a penny or two a day. Once that stops you get about 3-4 days of no price changes then it jumps up again and starts it penny a day drop. They even sometimes drop it a penny or two within 8 hours of the initial price hike. I think its to catch the other dealers high. Interesting marketing.

Today reg. went up 7 cents a gal - everywhere in the area - all at once. We are now a 2.93 a gal for regular. Diesel is just to depressing to even mention.

Another place to check FUEL (both gas and diesal) prices by state and major cities is http://www.gasbuddy.com/
it's updated by real people not the corporations. I found the AAA gas price page was inaccurate to say the least. At least I didn't drive 30 miles out of the way to find gas was $1.00 more then AAA said it was.

Hey Tin, just north of you here, unleaded is at 3.12, and diesel at 3.50
Haven't quite figured out, why fuel costs seem to be the only commodity, that the more you buy, the higher the rate! Can you imagine if all the wholesale outlets hear of this?
Sales terms will have a new meaning: Buy one at our regular price, or buy two, and pay double!

Diesel $3.799 at Citgo, Exit 399, I75, Alachua, Florida. 6 miles off the freeway in High Springs it is $3.35. Gas $2.999 to $3.15.

Another good site is Flying J Truckstops own website. Click on gasoline pricing and it gives all 3 grades, plus diesel and propane.

Last nite at one station diesel was 3.209, higher than their premium gas and another just
a mile down the road was 2.739, less than their unleaded. A difference of 47 cents! Amazin!

Diesel is 3.19 to 3.29 (ouch). I keep thinking I should stop at our neighborhood Chinese restaurant and get some old egg roll grease to use in Chummy.

Diesel is 3.08 here at the cheap places. I was able to get some gas yesterday for 2.95, but even that was a good deal. Everywhere else had it for 3.05.
