I paid $2.71.9 for diesel yesterday near the Atlanta Airport and this morning saw diesel at another station for $2.69.9. It had been $2.79.9 at that station yesterday.

I read an energy consultant say that we will see $1.35 per gallon for regular again in the not too distant future. Boy wouldn't that be nice.

I saw gas here in Woodstock for $2.21 this morning. I wonder why it is so much cheaper in St. Loius area? The Atlanta area used to be one of the cheapest markets in the country. Since the Katrina fiasco, we stay just a bit under the national average. Strange.

There's a strange 'Fuel Bank' in our town where we can pre-pay bulk gas at current price and use it up over time. We're thinking about it!

Could world conditions possibly cause prices to rise by a buck or more by, oh say, later next April or so? Do ya think??

Fuel prices

We just returned from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Gas price on post was $2.15 for regular. Off post was $2.19. The experts say we'll see $2.00 for reg by the end of the year.
Cheers.

Part of the reason is that Missouri has one of the lowest gas taxes in the nation. I think we are around $.16 a gallon.

Central NY compared to Northern Va

Left central NY last night - $2.87

Here in northern VA this am - $2.17

Wow. I hear it will dip below $2 by Jan.

Georgia used to have the cheapest. I hope all my fellow Georgians will remember this when they go to the polls in a few weeks.

Also, remember that Georgia has some of the highest gas prices in the Southeast. A little over a year ago Gov. Sonny announced late on Friday afternoon that School would be closed the following Monday to conserve gasoline so that those coastal states, i.e. Texas, i.e. President Bush's home state, would have plenty of gas after the hurricane hit the Texas coast. Can't remember the hurricane's name. Anyway, most Georgians didn't find out until just before quiting time, or in most cases when they saw the 6:00 pm news that night at home, and it was too late to arrange time off from work and too late to arrange day care for Monday. All so that people that didn't pay taxes in Georgia would have plenty of gas. Now, a little over a year later Georgians are paying some of the highest gas prices in the south. Where are his loyalties...who was he looking out for then and who is he looking out for now?

Sorry, I lapsed into a political tirade for a moment...BTW, I am still a true to the core Repbulican, just one that will not be voting for Sonny Purdue in November. Yes, I will cross party lines this time and so will my wife. Not that it will do any good. Most Georgians think Sonny is doing a fabulous job. I used to work for the State and I know what kind of job he did and what kind of games he played with the budget, too.

Sure, prices could jump by more that a buck, almost any nutcase (Iran) could start some stuff and make markets react. IMO

When I still had my motel there was a similar plan with the propane companies.
They usually ran that program during the summer while sales and consumption were low.
I did buy into that program and never lost any money, in fact I saved several $$$$.$$. Propane never ever went down during the winter.

If gas got down to say $2.00 or so I would probably jump all over the 'Fuel Bank Plan".

I paid $2.06 on Sunday in Des Moines Iowa. It was $2.19 when I made it home to the Twin Cities the same day.

It was $2.16 today in the Twin Cities on one corner, 4 blocks down the street jumped to $2.35 this afternoon.

Diesel is ~$2.62 at Loves on I-10 Chandler. Their sign is $2.69 but it's usually 7 cents less at the pump. I think they can do that because they're on the Gila reservation.

Gas around Minnesota went from 2.10 to 2.59. Diesel was 2.57 to 3.30. What a spread. At these priced maybe some real competion can start

Spring Break, maybe? Increased demand for increased travel? Switching over to low sulfur gasoline? Just because the can and will? We consumers just getting screwed as usual?
