Apparently gas hit $60 a barrel again. The're rumors that fuel supplies will show a decline in a soon to be released report. With that speculation, up goes the price. As I said earlier, spin the big wheel. QT went up to $2.09 yesterday. Some stations are holding prices at this point. We have one Shell who is at $1.92. I don't believe he will hold too much longer. Everyone seems to lockstep behind QT in this market.

Any question ?
I certainly don't envy you guys on the other side of the Atlantic. I've always heard the difference in our price compared to your prices was the difference in tax structures. While we have our problems over here, I like ours better.

Yep, I filled up Sat. at $1.89 /gallon at BP in Tullahoma and saw the price go up at Shell to $2.09. Here we go again.

regular was at 1.83 here last week. turns out we've had a bit of a price war in the midwest for the last few weeks.....controlled by of all people (not walmart).....quik trip.

i read that qt is the largest buyer of gasoline and in the midwest they have been pricing under/near wholesale....while planning to make it up on the chips/soda/long underwear that is purchased inside....so gas has been the 'loss leader' driving overall sales.

naturally most petrol only/indi convience stores have to bow to the qt price and the only stations not in lock step are the ones offering the highest octane (92-94) when qt stops at 91. those of us that are want the 92-94 have been willing to pay for it and aren't considered quiktrips market anyway.

during these last few weeks midwest folks have been 10-15 cents under most other markets because of this quik trip lowballing.

there were lawsuits against them 2 years ago for a similar "sale" . courts eventually ruled in favor of qt....

late last week qt decided to stop the low pricing for awhile and last thursday went back up to 2.10......and so did everyone else....this was before the increase on crude oil prices.

diesel today was 2.42 and has been 2.30-2.45 the last few weeks....pretty good considering it wasn't supposed to go down during winter this year....

as yogi says.....

"it's very hard to make predictions......especially about the future"

cheers

2air,

How IS that qt underwear, comfy?

I bought diesel this afternoon in Effingham, IL for $2.43 at a Flying-J.

Off topic a little, but this is the first Flying-J I've ever stopped at. It was very rv-friendly. They give rver's enough room to manuver where the Love's I've used seem to be less accomodating.

On edit, does anyone think that a thread about rv-friendly truck stops would be helpful?

Dennis

RV Friendly

We make a habit of stopping at Flying Js. They are RV friendly and offer separate parking as well. You can get a Flying J Card for discounts and also they have a map of all the sites in the US. Check their web site.

You might also want to try their Buffet. Not Bad!!!

diesel today 2.25 at the local sinclair station....
these stations still pump for you...and don't allow selfserve....

of course with 10 inches of snow and 7degree temps

they may be selling the diesel by the slice now!!

they give ya a free slurpeee if ya go in wearin' just the undies!!!

i like your idea for a thread on truckstops.....really.

we could post about the good ones....and others.

we could share about the best ones for a variety of features....
food, parking, pets, wireless, rv supplies and of course lingerie.

if you start the thread dennis i'll be sure to visit!

cheers

Now two days later (Thursday Night) the same station was $1.98! Other stations in town haven't followed suit yet but it makes things confusing as to wheather to buy today or wait 'till tomorrow?

These are unleaded prices.

Saw $2.09 yesterday and that's the lowest I've seen in a long time. For whatever reason, the Phoenix Metro area always seems to be among the highest in the nation. Not one of the reason's I moved here.

We are still hanging at $2.08 at the least expensive stations in our neck of the woods in south Metro-Atlanta.

Do you guys still not have self-serve in OR? All we have at our prices are for self-serve.
