Too funny. The story itself was great, the overwhelming response you got after wanting to delete it is priceless. Bringing my wife in now to read it.
A duck....it just sounds "Daffy". (ok, ok...be nice)
And I am so glad you were quick with the response to the lady that simply assumed you were being cruel. No more tours for her!

This has been my favorite thread ever! A close family member of mine once rescued a Canadian goose that couldn't walk too! She nursed Wacky back to health and he even slept in the house and wore a duck diaper! Ok, your not suppose to keep these guys as pets. He wasn't really a pet, but he did have his own cowboy outfit. Anyway, he kept flying back down the hill to the lake and then we would find him barely alive fighting for his life days later. After a while and after a few tears, he found a nice home at a goose rescue with a bunch of feathered buddies. Until Wacky, I never thought a big bird like that could be so affectionate and loving! Now, I shudder every time I see those hunting targets at Gander Mountain.
I loved reading about Frosty and I am so glad he got to re-coop in style!

Love the pics and this story too, we also had pet ducks raised from little ducklings when I was a kid. They were aptly named Quacky and Cukoo. They would come when they were called and chase us around the yard until we picked them up and gave them hugs and kisses.... every night they were rounded up and put into their ducky coop. They were gentle BUT I watched them on numerous occasions chase large dogs out of our yard. This story brought back such great memories, thanks Deb

There is a real life ancient castle in England, restored ages ago & still owned by one of New York's zillionaire families (I forget the family name now). Beautiful place, actually 2 castles in a lake, the 2 buildings joined by a kind of walkway. ANYWAY ~ the relevant gist is that at least in the 1980's they had a large flock of black geese. Not only beautiful to see swimming around the lake in such a setting, but we were told they can be very loud & aggressive in protecting the property.

Hi!! Yes, a fun thread do keep it going!!!... ages ago I'd moved to the country and had a few chickens... being originally a city kid, I was surprised at how smart they could be... a wandering dog came by and was attacking the flock and one of the pet ones came to the house squacking up a store at the screen door... I went out to see what was going on? AHHH!!! chased the dog off... I'd reaised that chicken from an egg on top of the refridgerator in a box (for warmth and with a light bulb..it works!!!)... two of them... part silkies... they both always came to the porch door and squacked to get in when it was time to lay an egg!!! no piccys,sorry... my cousin lives in Port Angeles..lovely area... ok, keep having fun, gail

Trying to remember how to post pics.
Some of you folks asked for pics of Frosty and Falco, but I have been so busy that I am just now getting around to trying to put them up. I apologize for being so late on this.
I knew how to post pic's on this forum a long time ago, but I forget, so it may take me a bit to research it all over again.
Cheers....

Hey there "Gator"
Here's how I post pictures:
Look up at the tool bar when you are typing your "Reply to Thread."
Next to the white smiley face, there is a paper clip.
Click on that and you should see a drop-down menu where you can attach pictures from your computer. Make sure each picture fits the size requirements listed or the up-load will fail.
Good luck and can't wait to see the pics.
It will be just ducky! lol

Thanks, I tried but now I have to figure out how to make the file size correct. Silly, I do this so seldom that I simply don't remember how----but I will figure it out.

This thread is for the birds...but keep it!!!!!!!!
I raised a duck when I was a boy. My dog and the duck were great friends.
We brought the duck to live on a pond with hundreds of other ducks.
My old house was near the Raptor Trust, a hospital for injured birds of prey
On the road to my new house is a Pheasant Relocation park. The name of the road......Eagle Road.

Frosty and her gang....
Well, I FINALLY figured it out. I also noticed that if you click on the given photo it gives a better rendition.
Darn, they were here and then poof, they are now gone.
I will try it ONE more time. If this doesn't work it's going to have to wait for "Yes Dear" to get home from work... she's the brains in this family... and the cook. ;>)
